Uber Dex Pass

BoltBlades12

Question

If there’s no plan for keepable Ubers, there should be a pass that gives us the completed dex entry of every Uber legend(including Ray and Mew2).

Maybe it could be available at any of the professor labs. And could cost 50k or another reasonable price.

Since Uber legends here are nothing but dex entries, it’d make sense to just have access to their dex entries.

(And maybe while they’re at it, just remove Ray and Mew2 from the KotH thing in general, since there’s no point, being they aren’t perma-keep and they can just have their dex entries available from the pass)

Just now, Munya said:

You can just get them from their existing mechanic for dex entries, why would it need to change?

Really no point of going through all that effort to hunt a legendary that has basically the same encounter rate as a shiny just for its dex entry. Especially if you cannot keep it permanently.

Besides, it’s one of those features that I’m confident nobody would miss or care should it be removed.

So then don't, if you don't deem it worth it - it's a fairly active in-game feature, so not many seem to agree.

It also wouldn’t affect the economy in any negative way if Ray and Mew2 were removed from the King-of-the-Hill system and had it so you could use in-game currency to get their completed dex entries.

And again, since you can’t perma-keep them, it makes their purpose only for dex entries. So it should be handled as such. Having a pass that gives you their completed entries and having them removed from the game wouldn’t have any negative consequences.

And again, I’m sure nobody would have any issue with this, considering a majority of people are farming or doing PvP anyways, and not doing these KotH things.

Just go play the king-of-the-hill minigame for the dex entries.

Invalidating things which are in the game is effectively wasted time in retrospect from a development point of view.
There is no purpose or necessity, or even quality of life improvement from this suggestion. it is literally paying yen so you don't have to play the game.
Do not assert that no one would have any issues with a suggestion as some sort of defence for it, there will always be people who are against even the most seemingly 100% upside suggestions. Outside of *those* people I would say anyone who spent time playing the king-of-the-hill minigame to EARN those dex entries would feel kinda scammed if next patch you could just pay like 20k.

Same could be said about the flutes(Red, Blue, Yellow, Black, White) when their effects were made obsolete due to Gen 5 mechanics, making them absolutely useless. Yet nobody made a peep about that.

It has been made clear that the only two things that REALLY matter here are PvP and the Economy. If an idea, no matter how great it is, poses a negative impact on either, then it is ignored.

And regarding the whole “scammed” business, you could say the same about the people who spent hours hunting great IV Ditto and genderless Pokemon like Beldum so they could get that 5x31 Metagross, only to get the update that genderless Pokémon could now be bred.

If THAT isn’t making players feel scammed but removing King-of-the-Hill legends and allowing their completed dex entries via pass is, then that’s just messed up.

And of course, the big difference between the genderless example and the KotH is that making genderless Pokemon interbreed-able actually affected the economy and the playerbase.

Removing Mew2 and Ray and any other Uber legends wouldn’t affect the economy nor its player-base.

Because it’s just a dex entry since you can’t perma-keep any of the Uber legends(yet, in that matter)

Besides, having a pass would be having another money sink, which is supposedly a good thing in MMO’s, is it not?
