Unable to add friends - bug?

Hi! me and a few friends are trying to play PokeMMO. However as of a few days ago, whenever we try to add each other as friends (by typing their name and then pushing add friend) we simply get the error "Player XXX could not be found". We've tried both ways, and its not a typo as weve even copy paste the username in the box to make sure.

 

How do we add each other as friends?

Are you trying to add by the username or by the character's nickname? You need to do the second one ^^

Characters nickname. We can even send ingame mail between characters, but when trying to add as friend apparently we don't exist

Were they offline when you tried to add them?

How about whispering each other, then right-clicking their name and clicking Add Friend?
