Getting into LC

Hey guys,

 

always thought about making a LC team, caught a Shiny Slugma today and now I want to build a team with it. Shiny Magcargo looks ugly and Shiny Slugma looks dope. I also think Slugmas power level is much higher in it's respective Cup.

 

 

Especially since there's no queue for LC and because I need to start from the scratch, I would love to learn a bit about the meta before.

 

As there's no usage list of LC, what are the Pokemon "everyone" has? I wouldn't want to play something like the Togekiss version of LC, or any super mainstream Poke.

What about archetypes? Is everything viable, or would you say that the LC meta is much slower/faster?

I start reading a few guides now, the meta shouldn't be too different from the official BW games, right? Except for the missing gen 4 pokes and different bans.

Anything else I should now?

get on pokemon showdown and google some lc teams and play a hundred matches before you even start. lc is a very weird meta and lot of things in it are inherently different then every other meta. you need to experience to take all the suggestions people give you and weed out what is the best and what you want to use.

Showdown is a great idea, wanted to look into that anyway.

 

So how about bans in the MMO? Are all Pokemon legal, like Scyther and Gligar?

No, only those on the LC tiers in your Pokedex.

Thanks for the replies guys! Watched a lot of tournament replays already and going to give showdown a try.
