Popular Post DaftCoolio
Eggroll made this logo Welcome to the eleventh season of the PokeMMO Super League – widely accepted as the finest and most prestigious tournament in PokeMMO, both officially and unofficially! The PokeMMO Super League is a team based tournament. Eight managers buy together a team and try to lead that team to victory in a thrilling nine week long journey. It certainly is one of the most enjoyable competitions PokeMMO can offer you, so why not read along and join the fun? I, Elcoolio, will be your host. Having spoke with the past hosts and told them of some of ideas I had to spice up PSL we agreed I'd be the right fit for the job. This PSL will also come with different rule-sets and regulations. Make sure you read all of this thread to be fully up to date! Major changes include: 1. Managers will be able to play for their teams. 2. The draft format will be a full snake draft instead of the typical auction. 3. Tiers will be OU/UU/NU/LC/Doubles/SMOU/Manager 1's Choice/Manager 2's Choice. Each manager will be able to choose one tier each week out of OU/UU/NU/LC/Doubles. 4. There will be no mid season auction/draft. 5. Trades will be allowed up until the end of week three. 6. The top four teams after the regular season will play for first place, the bottom four teams will play for fifth place. 7. Each teams prize will be divided among its players based on win rate. If your team gets 45 wins in the season and you got nine of those wins you would receive 20% (9/45) of your teams prize. 8. Coaching will not be allowed. Anyone found to be coaching or being coached will be punished. Schedule: Week 1: General Thread and Rule/Changes Discussion. Week 2: Manager’s sign up thread will open. Week 3: Manager’s sign up thread will be closed, managers will be announced and player sign up thread will open. Week 4 - 5: Player sign up thread will be closed. Draft will occur around this time depending on scheduling. Week 6 - 12: Weekly round-robin. Week 13 – 14: Playoffs. Tiers: As stated above PokeMMO OU PokeMMO UU PokeMMO NU PokeMMO LC PoekMMO Doubles Showdown Sun and Moon OU Donations: As always I will be looking for donations, there will be no end goal in donations this season. I will just gather as much as possible and base the end prize on that. If you wish to donate please mail your donation to 'Elcoolio' in game. Current Pot: $270,000,000, 69 Lava Cookies, 1 Premier Ball, 1 Sweet Heart Donators: Bilburt - $140,000,001 Elcoolio – $107,000,002 Anonymous, In memory of Roxxass - $10,000,000 DoubleJ - $5,000,000, 1 Sweet Heart Gunthug - $2,000,000 Toast - $2,000,000 Fredrichnietze - $1,800,000 MaatthewMLG - $1,000,000, 69 Lava Cookies Mkns - $500,000 TiToooo - $255,000 ZeknShooter - $250,000, 1 Premier Ball EreshkigalL - $100,000 Haazuu - $94,928 ShinyTaillow - $69 General Rules and Information: Managers: Managers are responsible for leading their teams on and off the field. They are responsible for drafting their teams, setting weekly rosters, ensuring their team follows the rules and communicating team information with the host. Players who wish to be considered for the eight manager positions will sign up in the “Manager Registration” thread when posted. As managers will be allowed to play the eight managers selected by the host will be chosen based on skill and competitive achievements. More information regarding the role and responsibilities of a manager will be post in the manager sign up thread. Players: A player signs up for the PSL to compete in duels and represent his/her team on a weekly basis in order to win the grand prize at the end of the season. Players join the PSL by signing up in the “Player Registration” thread during the preseason and will be selected by a manager during the draft. Players are at the mercy of their manager, who will select which tiers they play and even whether they play at all. It is recommended though that managers and players work together throughout the season for the best possible outcome. PSL players are the backbone of this event and we need a diverse group to ensure success. Past players have joined from every corner of the planet and have found a ton of enjoyment by meeting new players and challenging themselves to play in a high stakes event. We would require a minimum of 80 players to sign up, however not every player who registers will be able to play. When you join the PSL, you are agreeing to play for any manager that selects you in the draft and that you are committed to playing throughout the entirety of the season. You will also follow the rules provided and will respect the decisions made by the host. Team Captain: A team captain will be chosen by each manager from their team at the beginning of the season. A team captain is there to assist their manager throughout the season, as well as make administrative decisions in their place if they are unable to. Draft: The draft will be a snake draft instead of the typical auction. For those unsure of how this will work, each manager will randomly be ordered number 1 to 8, they will then each pick a player in that order, they will then each pick a second player but in reverse order to the previous round, and so on. Managers will be required to pick a minimum of eight players and a maximum of 12. The draft will be held over discord at a time yet to be determined. Any manager unable to attend the draft can nominate someone else to do it for them. Trades: Each manager is able to trade any of their players, except their team captain. Trades will be allowed up until the end of week three. Trades must consist of the same number of players from each team involved in the trade. The host reserves the right to veto any trade they deem to be significantly benefit one team more than the other. A trade isn’t finalized until the host says so. Tiers: The eight tiers will be OU, UU, NU, LC, Doubles, SMOU, Manager 1's Choice, Manager 2's Choice. Managers Choice, each manager will be able to choose from the following tiers each week; OU, UU, NU, LC and Doubles, so if a manager picks nu and their opponent picks uu the tiers will be ou,uu,nu,lc,dubs smou, nu and uu. managers dont have to play the selected tier. Regular Season: Seven week round robin, each team will play every other team once. A team will receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. Rosters: Managers will submit their team’s roster before the start of each week. Any player in the team can be placed in any tier regardless of what tier they signed up for in their registration. Managers will have up until 72 hours before the start of the week to submit their Manager’s Choice Tier, in order to give enough time for each time to organise their roster accordingly. Managers will then have up until the weekly thread is posted to submit their roster. Weekly Threads will be posted Monday evening GMT, give or take. Managers who fail to send their Manager’s Choice Tier or Weekly Roster by the deadline will have the previous weeks Tier or Roster used instead. Scheduling a Match: It is the responsibility of each player to schedule their match with their opponent for the week. It is recommended that the primary method of contact be done using the forum messaging system, but if your opponent’s inbox is full please contact them by posting on their forum profile. In-game whispers with screenshots will not be taken into account when activity decisions are made by the hosts as these can be easily manipulated. All matches must be completed in their allotted week as the season must move forward. Extensions for matches will be given only under rare circumstances. Once a time is agreed upon by both players post the time of your battle in the thread, I will then endeavour to post the scheduled time the OP. Activity Decisions: If a match is not completed, the hosts will have to decide between awarding an activity win and declaring the match a no contest. This is largely a subjective process, but players that put forth the necessary effort to get a match scheduled will typically be rewarded with an activity win. Depending on how inactive a player is they will be suspended for the following week. Midseason: There will be no midseason player sign ups or draft. Playoffs: Once the seven regular season weeks have concluded the top four teams will play for first place. The number one ranked team will play the number four ranked team, while the number two ranked team will play the number three ranked team. The winners will then play for first and second, and the losers will play for fourth and fifth. Meanwhile the fifth to eighth ranked team will play for fifth place. Five will play eight, six will play seven. Then the winners will play for fifth place. Tie breakers after league play will be, in order, head to head, player wins less player losses, player wins, coin flip. Prize: The prize will be allocated between each team as follows; the first place team will get 62%, the second place team will get 20%, the third place team will get 10%, the fourth place team will get 5% and the fifth place team will get 3%. Each team’s prize will be split based on win ratio within the team. For example if you team gets 45 wins over the nine week season and you go undefeated and get nine wins, you will get 20% (9/45ths ) of your teams prize. If you only win one game you will get 1/45th of the prize. If you don’t win any games you will get none of the prize. Battles: Even though PSL is a team event, coaching and ghosting is not allowed. Players have to make their own battle decisions without the help of teammates, friends or spectators. Spectators are not allowed to make predictions publicly. Ghosting, playing on another person’s account, is an officially ban-able offense. Coaching is not but it does take away from competition like it is meant to be. As a manager or a team member you should have confidence in the ability of your teammate. As a player standing from the side-lines you should have respect for a player’s ability. Any player found to be coached will be banned from PSL and their team will be deducted points, as it is the manager’s job to ensure their players follow the rules. Helping with practicing is absolutely fine and helping with teambuilding is also good, in fact I would encourage these activities. Sportsmanship: You will respect your teammates and above all you will respect your manager. If you got drafted by a manager you don't like or want you will have to put these feelings aside. Signing up is like signing a contract, and these are conditions you have to accept. Disobeying your PSL duties will result in being banned from PSL. At any point of time the host can give you a warning or a restriction based on your behaviour. Don’t act like an uguu and you should be fine. Trying to purposely evade matches, or not trying to get your match done for example can result in penalties. It’s impossible for the host to plan for every situation, its possible something will arise that won’t fall within the bounds of the rules. It is important to remember the final decision lies with the host. Shout outs to the past hosts who wrote the majority of this. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. If you have any recommendations / suggestions speak up. Have fun reading on the toilet Edited May 30, 2019 by DaftCoolio Imabetheverybest1, Frag, MaatthewMLG and 33 others 35 1 Link to comment

Draft will occur around this time depending on scheduling. This phase can probably be done in 3 weeks. My recommendation: Week 1: General Thread and Rule/Changes Discussion. & Manager’s sign up thread will open. ( we don't need to have the rules/discussion solidified to let managers start signing up) Week 2: Manager’s sign up thread will be closed, managers will be announced and player sign up thread will open. Week 3: Player sign up thread will be closed. Draft will occur around this time depending on scheduling. DaftCoolio and Zymogen 1 1 Link to comment

Yeah, in my opinion the auction constitutes half of the pre-season hype and anticipation. There’s so much strategy and risk involved in an auction that a snake draft just seems like a cop-out. I personally think a balance is the way forward, like in PSL 8 iirc, where the first 2 rounds were draft with the rest being a regular auction, which ensures that every team got a minimum of 2 players they could rely on week in week out. NikhilR
The idea behind a "Manager's choice" tier is a really neat one man. I don't know if having SM OU is the right call, mainly because it's so different from MMO OU and so I doubt we'd have the requisite amount of players to sign up for it. BW OU as a replacement would be most ideal as it is closest to MMO OU. Anyway, I'm sure that this season's going to be a fun one with you as the host, best of luck Coolio! Most of the community might not want or care about showdown tiers, but in saying that your conceding that it means some of them do. Its an event for the community and there has been significant interest in SMOU in the past 2 hours ago, Zymogen said: Yeah, in my opinion the auction constitutes half of the pre-season hype and anticipation. No doubt there is more strategy and risk involved in an auction but that isn't to say there is none in a snake. The main reasoning behind a snake is to make the tournament more competitive with more even teams. And I get the whole but its up to managers to pick a good team argument but this isn't a tournament for eight people. I don't want players to lose interest literally once they have been bought because the manager that bought them made a garbage roster. Zymogen, gbwead, Gunthug and 2 others 5 Link to comment
