Add Dusk/Dawn

Question

Like where when it is day it is bright, and night is dark, add dusk and dawn into the game. To my understanding, Black and White already have overworld textures made up for Dusk and Dawn, and the soon to be added Platinum also has it as well. There are also dusk/dawn battle backgrounds already existing for B/W, if I recall correctly.

 

For the GBA games, simply add a shader of orange or light blue, like how dark blue is added to give the appearance of night time.

 

Makes the game feel a whole lot more dynamic, and gives you a better sense of what time it is in the game.

To my understanding, it seems like the most "custom" thing to make in all of this is the new shader for the GBA regions, and just using the already applicable sprites that exist for the DS regions. I absolutely do not know how they code it, but I imagine they just allocate the daytime and nighttime sprites to be loaded at a certain time.

They dont have to necessarily release it in their client, but allow us to mod a bit more and create it ourselves, it could be neat

Even maybe to expand on this, allowing us to customize tiles to be loaded during certain parts of the day/season. There was a really cool winter tile mod that is pretty much unusable now.

Well it's a bit more sophisticated than that, especially for Kanto and Hoenn (assuming unova already has dusk and dawn built into the ROM), and even for unova's custom sprites/tiles as well as vanity and character recoloring.

That would, but I'm guessing all tile mods are broken and no new ones work because of the way the tiles work in the Unova update. I don't even know if tiles are client side anymore, or just used directly from the ROMs and the custom modifications are server-side. It'd be cool if there was a way we could mod them though. @Darkshade @Desu (sorry for the notification) but do you guys it'd ever be possible to let players play around with tiles? Raichu is right, tile mods would be fun to have again.
