Is there any way to get head smash on an Aggron?

Recommended Posts

Yes it is do-able.

While it may seem not possible to do since Cranidos/Rampardos have not been implemented to be able to catch yet, the only way you'd technically be able to do it is via chain breeding.

Scraggy/Scrafty learns the move via Level up so get one that knows the move, then breed with a Male Nidoran to produce a Nidoran that now has Head Smash (note: female Nidoran won't cut it here, so you may need to try a couple times so don't bother with IV's). Once you have the male Nidoran with Head Smash, you can now breed it with a female Aron/Lairon/Aggron to get the move Head Smash.

Good luck.

Is the breed outcome 50/50? Or is it more rare for the outcome to be male nidoran?

Its 50/50 although you can't breed a male nidoran with Scraggy/Scrafty so you will have to use a female one to get a male one to breed with Aron.

If you want 100% breed outcome use nidorino instead.

If you use nidorino you will always get a male nidoran, if you use nidorina you will always get a female nidoran.

So female scraggy/scrafty with head smash with male nidorino = 100% male nidoran with head smash?

no that gives you Scraggy, I'm pretty sure Lazaaro is referring to breeding Nidorino with ditto that guarantees a Nidoran Male but that is not relevant here.

So it has to be a nidoran and it's 50/50 correct?

A female nidoran for the first breed. And yes you have a 50/50 chance. You can check the summary/pokedex entry while it is an egg to see what you get before it hatches.

1 more breeding related question if you don't mind.

So once you get an egg move done on a certain pokemon you can always relearn it. If you breed this pokemon without this specific egg move, but the option to relearn it with some other pokemon, will the newly bred pokemon be able to relearn the egg move that it's parent could or this option doesn't transfer?

I'm honestly not sure on this, it's worth checking before you do the breed to see if it has the move. If not go to the heart scale/mushrooms move relearner to relearn the move.

the pokemon need to have the egg move himself to be able to relearn it so you will need to have your final breed have it to be able to relearn it

Need to necro this thread. So I went ahead to get a head smash Aggron. The breeding preview doesn't show the move getting passed over. Is this because only NidoranM can get the move?
Don't want to level another Scraggy in case I did something wrong.

I have a male Scrafty with Head Smash and a NidoranF.
