time to mess with the economy again?

Recommended Posts

GTL updates:

  • Auction durations have been reduced to 3 weeks
  • Minimum price for monsters has been increased from $1,000 to $2,500
  • Maximum listings per type has been reduced from 300 -> 250
  • Taxes for items are now calculated per-item instead of per-stack
    • The minimum fee per-item increased $100 -> $150
    • The maximum fee per-item remains $25,000

anyone got an opinion to share about these?

Im not specialist or anything. For me it looks like:

- They want to reduce thrash on GTL (4weeks->3weeks & max listing 300->250)

- Encourage ppl to list more items in 1 stack (min fee 100$-150$ but max stays the same). Maybe to avoid situation in which someone lists 200 berries in stacks of 10 to fill first results

I dont know why min price for pokemon was rised. Maybe so new ppl wont "sell" mons for -100$? Dunno

Why do you think those changes will affect economy in any way?

'Taxes for items are now calculated per-item instead of per-stack'

So it's quite the opposite really...Since people will be paying tax per piece now. It discourages single listing rather than encourage.

For example,

Let's take an item X which is worth 100k,

As per old system:

If someone made a listing 99*X, their potential max profit revenue is 9.9m. But instead of the 5% tax of 495k, they paid 25k tax.

As per new system:

If someone makes a listing 99*X, their potential max profit revenue is 9.9m. And they will pay 5% tax, which is 495k.

So even if they go ahead and make 9 listing of 10*X & one of 9*X, they would still be paying 495k tax in the end.

Therefore, people would now prefer to make more listings than just one listing so as to cover the whole page with their stuff.

i think this is rather dumb because all you have to do to avoid this tax is just not use the gtl. people traded before gtl and it was cancer and if the cost is high enough, you can just go back to the cancer system of spamming WTT in global jajaja busco 想要交易

i believe the intent is so you dont HAVE to, but if the advertising fee is greater then your margins you either up the price to something ridiculous then up it again in 3 weeks when it doesnt sell, or busco war

i think those change will mainly affect the breeder market has it will now be a much less profitable way to make money. this basically fuck over one way of making money.

also the listing time being lower just hurt the market of item that don't sell very fast such has specific breeder/ rare item/ shiny

i can see the good point in the new way to tax stack and the maximum listing but the rest is just hurting more than anything else.

nobody will pay 2.5k for a shitto lol IMO, i'll not pay more than 1.5k for a shitto

I think this is the other purpose of this especific gtl change, gonna encourage ppl farming their own shittos if they don't want to pay the '' new price ''. and cuz way too many ppl getting shinys from eggs and doing egg hunting now, this gonna make it a bit harder.

This gonna hurt their pockets a bit, rich guys which don't care to pay 2.5k and other ppl who still prefer buy, instead of farming it, cuz we all know farming shittos is really boring ~ imo.

Most ppl who buy shittos buy boxes at a time from friends or trade chat. Ik a ton of shitto breeders and sellers, not one uses gtl to sell or buy boxes of shittos at once

i bought quite a few from time to time , when i saw 1 ~ 1.5k ones, it's quite frequently actually ~ and i can be wrong about this, but this is the only

thing i can think about of that specific change.

About the others changes i don't know what we can gain or lose ~.

well the stack listing one is fairly good but beside that it's just random stabing.

its not tho, there are literally 0 situations in which it benefits the seller over our current system

actually there is some has it lower the risk of market flood wich will likely keep the value higher becaus it's not always that one big stack that wont sell to beat

this wouldn't cause the same type of flood though has the risk of loosing money would make those people less interested into selling the same amount of stuff at the same time since it raise the risk of a loss. in other word more listing less item

that wasnt what i was saying, read it again
