Chiefronse
Hi, I feel like i am doing something wrong regarding the money aspect. I tried looking up guides on how to make money in pokemmo, but they feel outdated. For exemple i am not sure berry farming is all that profitable if you incalculate harvesting tools for new seeds… (perhaps the price for harvesting tools is to high?). Shard and everstone farming are cheap on gtl compared to the time you commit. I feel like we lack npc's that payout 5-6k a fight like those two in unova do at i believe route 13 (maybe i am missing a few good payers). Whats really left is gym rematches, but since they scale it is not that easy either. What am i missing? Or what do you guys do? What are the big money secrets in pokemmo? Since yes i burn money making comps faster then i make money... Edited June 9, 2018 by Chiefronse Link to comment
milluki
I haven't played much in a while but I'm pretty sure gym rematches is the most reliable way to quick cash. Grind a high level team and get started. Link to comment
Rittz
2 hours ago, Chiefronse said: What am i missing? Or what do you guys do? If you don't have enough lvl 100 pokemons to consistently beat gym leaders in rematches I would concentrate all resources in getting 5-6 of them and start doing gym runs. It is no doubt the best money making method by far (don't forget Amulet Coin). I'd suggest to do gym runs in all 3 regions (I would prioritise Hoenn, then Kanto, then Unova). If you are waiting for cooldown you can try challenge some other NPCs, starting with the Manamoto guy in F22 of the Game Freak building in Castelia, or high-paying trainers like the two ladies in Five Island or the Rich Boy Winston south of Rutsboro City in Hoenn. You might want to check this for most profitable NPC runs, as it's the closest to a money guide nowadays -> I would also suggest having a quick look at newly added pokemons in the GTL when you use it, it's really easy to do some purchases to sell them for higher almost instantly; it's especially easy to do with Dittos and Beldums. The only thing is, you need some money to invest and you need to pick only blatant bargains as sometimes you won't sell those things that easily. But 90% of cases it's just easy money if you have a good eye. If you need to do something to avoid the grind of battling gyms you can try Pay Day + Pickup in places like Berry Forest or Hoenn's Victory Road. You'll need a lvl 100 Meowth for that. 2 hours ago, Chiefronse said: I tried looking up guides on how to make money in pokemmo, but they feel outdated. And the berries are not profitable anymore since the last updates so I would personally not consider these methods. Dibz and Staggiie 2 Link to comment

razimove
'big money' isnt something you're able to do unless you buy RP, or get a lucky shiny and sell it. Just grind 24/7, and you'll eventually have cash. Link to comment

True, scamming noobs or sniping is always an option, but not reliable, and tbh scamming new players is just wrong. LeZenor, Crimar, Chjul19 and 1 other 4 Link to comment

It is wrong I agree, but there is no other way to make good cash unless u got GOD Rng and catch a rare or waste money on rp. Doesn't really help you saying it's wrong cuz everyone will do it if the opportunity presents itself. Link to comment

There's also 2 NPCs that pay 5k+ in the Shopping Mall on Route 9 in Unova as well as Morimoto in GameFreak building in Castelia city, he gives 19k if you want only trainers like that. But there's not many left in the game since they nerfed the payouts last year. I think the 2 on route 13 unova, the 2 in the mall on route 9, and Morimoto are the only ones that give 5k+ now aside from gym rematches. Most NPC rematches give 2-4k. Here's a list of them all if you wanna decide who to fight and who to not fight. I took it from my guide, someone already linked it, but maybe this is easier. It might not look like much (2k here, 3k there...seems kinda bad at first) but it does add up if you spend a couple hours fighting the worthwhile ones. My guide that got linked earlier outlines the most profitable ones for the time spent (imo). It's not gospel but it can help. I also prefer rematching NPCs the most because it's straight guaranteed cash. No worries about getting RNG drops, no worries about whether this or that will sell or not, no worries about getting undercut in the GTL. It's just the most reliable imo (if you have the time to do it) It's my favorite way of income by far. Mostly because I do money runs on alt accounts as well and it suddenly becomes SUPER good income that way. But it's really all about personal preference and how much time you have to spend. It can get boring and repetitive, even I am sometimes like, "Ugh I don't feel like doing this shit today." lol But If you do it at least sometimes, it's better than nothing. Gym rematching is definitely the best money for the time spent though, as others have pointed out. Especially if you have alt accounts that can run them too. They take 1-2 hours depending on your battle finesse and you get about 275k. Other than that, farming is just a part of the game unless you're pay to win. This is an MMO after all. People can't expect to make millions and millions in a day without grinding for it, that's just not realistic. Making just 800k -1m a day is totally possible though if you actually have the time to work for it. And having an income of about 7m per week is more than enough to play the game, breed, play competitive, whatever you wanna do. So, there's no "big secret".....its just grinding....ALOT lol I'm looking at this from an older player's perspective from playing for 3 years....so to me, this stuff is very easy to accomplish. I dunno if you're still in storyline or in end-game but I think every player eventually needs a good sweeper or 2 to fight NPCs rematches, a good Gym rematching team, and a few utility mons (like a catcher smeargle or parasect or breloom, a pick up/payday meowth, a thief mon to farm held items, a damp ability + thief mon to farm everstones, a water absorb + thief mon to farm shards, etc.) Once you have those, here are your options/eventual options to make money: Spoiler NPC rematching - takes some time if you choose to re-battle alot of regular NPCs. But at least rematch the gyms. I cannot stress this enough DO YOUR GYM REMATCHES EVERYDAY. You can also rematch the E4s but rematching E4 is kinda hard imo lol and you probably need items like revives and potions and leppas (which takes away from your profit when you beat them) so rematching the level 100 E4s is just not efficient for me at my trash skill level lol, others probably definitely fare better than me though.Berry farming - this takes like a day or however long your berries take to grow. like 16 hours or whatever, idk for sure, I havent done it in awhile. Obviously leppa berries and EV reducing berries are popular. As well as berries used in competitive often like chesto, salac, ect. It's really good profit if you do it on alt accounts too. But it can be annoying getting started and getting your seeds stocked up enough to grow a bunch of plants and also it's annoying having to plant and water them and there's always the risk of the plants dying if you forget about them and you lose money like that so mehh thats up to you. But it's passive income (aside from the planting and watering) so you can basically grow money while you're offline. Which is pretty cool if you have a busy IRL life and can't grind alot, especially with android client being a thing. Plus you can crush your berries into berry powders used in crafting for things like PP ups and PP max and rare candies(I think?) which all sell really well. Farming items - everstones, heartscales, mushrooms, items used at move tutors, and items used to craft hidden power changer gems are the best selling imo. Maybe evolution items too, like metal coat, dragon scale, etc. But obviously this take time as well and also good RNG on drops. GTL Sniping/flipping - sometimes people dunno what they're doing and sell things hella cheap. Or maybe they forget to add some zeros on the price or completely forget to even put a price on it in general or something like that but sometimes you can snatch really good stuff for basically nothing and resell it. $1 items, 1k mons. Once grabbed a shiny oddish off GTL for 50k lul (now THAT doesn't happen crazy often but it does happen) You don't have to be at a PC either, you can use the GTL in the field if you weren't aware. You can't list anything or claim funds, but you CAN buy things, they get mailed to you. So while I'm farming things I just look at GTL at the same time, it can be nice money on the side if you're lucky and pay attention. Farming breeders - this takes time too (and good RNG obviously). I seem to average about 20-30 1x31s in like 2-3 hours when i farm. Also manage a couple of 2x31s as well. Even a rare 3x31 here and there. I have decent RNG with it but not everyone does so I can understand if players don't prefer to do this. Usually I farm whismurs because field egg group is pretty popular, its also in monster egg group too and is 100% encounter rate in Rusturf Tunnel at Hoenn so it's really easy and fast just spam catching until you run out of balls. It's like 20k for x99 pokeballs and you'll definitely make that back plus profits. I kinda don't farm whismurs as often for now though because the market for field breeders seems to be a bit saturated at the moment. Use to be able to sell 1x31 field groups for 8-12k, now the prices are dropped to like 4-6k. You can advance search GTL for what egg groups or Dittos are selling for what price currently in certain IVs. Pick a market and farm it. But also pay attention to how long things have been listed for. If something has been listed for 47 days and hasn't sold yet...then that's probably not a good option lol On a side note: I had a small "business" for awhile with a few people on my friends list where they would name an egg group they needed 1x31 breeders for and i would go spend several hours farming my ass off and then sell them 2-3 boxes full of 1x31s at 8k each. Even found a shiny in the process. I liked doing that because I didnt even have to list anything to GTL or pay the taxes there. And I had guaranteed buyers since they were requests. But of course, I was spending half the day to accomplish this. Also it was like right after Unova got added so tons of people were breeding the new mons. There was a high demand for breeders at that time. So when they release the rest of the 4th gen mons and add hidden abilities in the near future, consider jumping on the breeding influx while it lasts. Breeders, everstones, mushrooms, move tutor items....all those will be bank af waiting to happen.Breeding and selling comps - if you get alot of high IVs while farming or see something like that for cheap on GTL just buy them and breed "budget comps." EV them and sell them for profit. People will typically buy a comp 2x31, 3x28+ with nature for 400k or so. And its wayyyy cheaper to breed these but people will still spend the money to buy them to avoid the work/time/training. But make sure the comps you breed are desirable. Stick to breeding popular OU mons since they will sell the best. You dont have to always make comps either. Even just breeding a 3x31 breeder and selling that for 100k is good profit. Keep in mind, this is only if you are catching your own 31s used in the breeding. Otherwise you wont really sell for much profit if you're buying them from GTL. I've sold 3x31 field egg group pretty reliably for 100k each that only cost me 60-70k to make. But other egg groups I've noticed wouldn't really sell until i lowered prices. It just all depends whats in demand I guess. I also use to make 2x31, 3x28+ no nature breeders in field group. usually 28+/31/28+/x/28+/31 because 31 special attack IV fields for some reason don't sell well so go 31 attack IV. Always make them male. They sold reliably at 200k. And you could sell for more if you roll a good nature. Or maybe for more in general, idk, I tend to sell on the cheaper side. Just make sure you aren't making less than you spent to make it. Also, many people I'm sure don't pay attention to decent breeders unless they have a 30 or 31 IV and will just release them. But that's just throwing money away because you can actually sell 3x28+ typically in the hp, defense, and special defense stats for about 10-20k. Maybe more with good nature? Go in GTL right now, advanced search, type in 28 hp IV, 28 defense IV, and 28 special defense IV and search. You'll see that most sell for around 15k and if there are any cheaper than that, there likely aren't many of them. People use these for breeding 2x31 3x28+ budget sweeper comps. They DO sell. I sell 3x28+s all time for 10-20k. Or I buy them off GTL for 5k or less and resell. It can take time, like a few days maybe a week, but they always sell eventually for me. It's not much....but profit is profit and it adds up with time. I mean that's better than just throwing them away. When I go to breed something, I search GTL for things like this if I don't already have something similar in my PC to use because I breed budget comps (since I personally don't care for perfect comps being 1m+ to breed or buy when I can make or buy things just as good for half the price or less). And others definitely think this way as well so don't release stuff like that, you can profit off it, I promise. This is the sorta stuff I wish I knew when I first started playing. Paydaying with pickup - takes time and paydaying is only good in high level areas (fighting level 50-60 mons making 500-600 yen per battle is decent enough I guess) and you could use 6 paydayers in your party to stay in one place for a long time before you have to heal PP. The pick up farming is RNG though and can take awhile to get anything good so THAT aspect is pretty mehhh imo. I only pick up farm if I need that item to use myself or if I'm doing something else. For example: if i am farming mushrooms as my main goal from catching Paras in "L" shaped rooms of Mt. Moon....I will also pick-up farm on the side since you can pick up more mushrooms and even everstones there. Farming BP - also takes time doing matchmaking or battle tower, but its a good option for people who dont like to traditionally farm and would rather battle for their cash. Offering EV training, Breeding, or Leveling services - this takes time and trust but at least its an option. Never underestimate the power to profit off other people's laziness/ lack of time. lol Alt running use to be good too (making new characters and using Amulet Coin through the story line and selling all the items you get along the way) but they nerfed that too by making alot of storyline items untradable. Not everyone will agree with me on those I'm sure but I'm just giving my perspective and what has worked for me. Those are pretty much all your choices for income. I might've missed some methods, but in my 3 years of playing these are the ones I stick to. You aren't doing anything wrong. Monetary gain progress is very possible and easier than you might think. You just have to know what works and what doesn't. Know what the economy demands. If you're farming, you're doing the right thing already. It's all just farming and time, no way around that aside from finding a lucky wild 4-5x31 or a shiny to sell. Or winning events. Oh or buying RP and selling that all pay-to-win style. lol That's the closest thing to a get rich quick scheme you're gunna find. (aside from scamming which can get you in troubleeeee). If you're artsy you can also sell sigs, custom themes, etc here on the forums. But good luck! And I hope some of that was at least a little helpful :) Edited June 10, 2018 by Staggiie obsessedlady, Goku, BrunoMarin and 2 others 5 Link to comment

How can you not understand what you are reading? 48 minutes ago, Staggiie said: There's also 2 NPCs that pay 5k+ in the Shopping Mall on Route 9 in Unova as well as Morimoto in GameFreak building in Castelia city, he gives 19k if you want only trainers like that. But there's not many left in the game since they nerfed the payouts last year. I think the 2 on route 13 unova, the 2 in the mall on route 9, and Morimoto are the only ones that give 5k+ now aside from gym rematches. Most NPC rematches give 2-4k. You can't expect to make millions and millions in a day without grinding for it, that's just not realistic. Making just 800k -1m a day is totally possible though if you actually have the time to work for it. And having an income of about 7m per week is more than enough to play the game, breed, play competitive, whatever you wanna do. So, there's no "big secret".....its just grinding. I'm looking at this from an older player's perspective from playing for 3 years....so to me, this stuff is very easy to accomplish. I dunno if you're still in storyline or in end-game but I think every player eventually needs a good sweeper or 2 to fight NPCs rematches, a good Gym rematching team, and a few utility mons (like a catcher smeargle or parasect or breloom, a pick up/payday meowth, a thief mon to farm held items, a damp ability + thief mon to farm everstones, a water absorb + thief mon to farm shards, etc.) Once you have those, here are your options/eventual options to make money: Reveal hidden contents NPC rematching - takes some time if you choose to re-battle alot of regular NPCs. Breeding and selling comps - if you get alot of high IVs while farming or see something like that for cheap on GTL just buy them and breed "budget comps." EV them and sell them for profit. And I hope some of that was at least a little helpful :) That's pretty lit well done. I mean it's easy to grind let's say a minimum of 300k a day. If you do gyms everyday for exactly 1 year you'll have gathered more than 110mil. I think the pay out rate is quite fair since a lot of us have a few alts to repeat the gyms. Staggiie and Dibz 2 Link to comment

How to make money seems to be a really popular question lol I like to give tips to players that struggle with money making because I remember the struggle quite well when I first started. Wish I had a mentor or something back then. Because a large part of the farming-things-to-sell aspect requires knowledge of our in-game economy that new players don't have yet. But yeah, I totally agree that the payouts are fair. They only nerfed it because they added Unova which gave us more Gyms and Trainers to fight. So it basically evens out. even if it takes a little more time than before the nerfs to make the same amount of money but no big deal imo I think people only have a problem with it because it does take some time that they maybe don't have. Even getting an alt up to where it's able to rematch gyms takes time. (it's totally worth it though) They also probably get burned out on it after awhile so it's really boring eventually. 1 hour ago, Goku said: I mean it's easy to grind let's say a minimum of 300k a day. I didn't know that lol But yeah for sure, it is easy if players put the work and time in. Doing gyms + the select trainers I usually fight gets me like 500k and takes about 3 hours. Just doing gyms for 300k is good too and I think everyone should at least do that. And then if I farm something else for a few hours (usually 1x31s, 2x31s) well.... Gym/NPC run money + sold breeders money = it's not uncommon for me or anyone to make 800k+ in a single day from like 5-6 hours of work. But I know RNG is crap for some people though while farming items and breeders etc. That's what makes NPC rematching a good choice I think, since there's no RNG involved. mago1993
300k gym rematch 82.5k +2k BP (now any choice 10k bp = 250k, then 250÷5 = 50k more) E4 rematch (if u are good pve) and u can farm all day this. 82.5k + 50k = 132.5k (but u need 20-30k aprox for reruns to health team). U have videos in other threard a player farm rerun e4 kanto in 30minutes record. Link to comment

My point is that scam is something you should be ashamed of, rules or not. And btw, considering lowball is not scam is maybe right if you focus on rules, but if you consider what a scam is, well lowball is a scam. Feel free to be as dishonest as the rules let you be if that is what you want. (And again you may not get that I dont really want people to lowball but use the words in a way that show it in a negative point of view ?) Link to comment

I wish like for instance there was an auto pad to get to the gymleader. The gym in saffron, the gym in mossdeep city, and the gym past driftveil. Some people probably don't do gym runs specifically because of them tbh lol A shortcut for just gym rematches would be amazing, especially in Unova. Raichuforyou
While things that are dependent on market pricing like shinies, lucky eggs, and more are deflating, a lot of the fixed price items are going up in value like healing items (with the only substitute to getting them being playing a farmvile simulator with the berries). Even ones like the bands that are just staying the same price, it is effectively harder to get them due to the mass nerf of NPC yen payout a few months ago. While there is deflation going on with other sorts of items, nobody is mentioning that yen is losing purchasing power when it comes to these fixed costs for items. It is harder and it costs more to heal your pokemon or catch Pokemon than in the past. Toupi 1 Link to comment

Good afternoon Chiefonse, my Mayor Council and I did a video on this exact topic. I hope this helps. Spoiler Link to comment
Chiefronse
Hi all, Ty everyone for the replies, much appreciated and helpfull. To answer the question, i got everything beat, no lvl cap, 5 comp mons ev trained of wich 1 is lvl 100 rest stil grinding and i am currently expanding that list also have a false swipe lvl 100 smeargle x3 catcher and a pickup meowth x5 almost lvl 100. my comps are x5. So yes i've been doing stuff that is listed in this guide, even some gtl flipping. I stil strugle with gym rematches but that should be over soon when my other comps are lvl 100, currently can beat a few of the gym rematches just with OHKOing with a heracross lvl 100, but i am obvisouly not fully ready yet to beat all gyms (i will soon tough). But i feel like i made some inefficient farming choices in the past, the answers are defintly helpfull. I'll use the tips listed thanks everyone for this update.
