Double Battles in PvP Matchmaking

Pretty self-explanatory. I think many double-lovers would be very excited if this was implemented, as it'd be a nice way of finding battles without having to run around challenging people. It would also be a nice thing to have for players that want to practice for double tournaments.

It existed before, and it was completely dead. I don't think it'll be much different now.

Every tier besides OU is dead in matchmaking so why bother? Join the tournaments, there's plenty of skilled persons there to play and learn with. Join a competitive team, watch doubles match ups, play tournaments, all that is practice.

I see, I didn't know it was implemented before... still, just because it won't reach OU popularity does not make it unworthy of its own place as tier. With that logic, devs could just get rid of UU and RU altogether, yet they don't because they have their respective niche of players.

Those are nice alternatives, they just happen to be a bit more inconvenient, while perfectly compatible, with what I'm suggesting. There may only be a few people interested in Doubles within a given team, and random double matches are not the easiest things to find and watch. I don't think tournaments are a consistent way to play and get good within a tier either - first off they're occasional events, and you usually want to join them when you can already hold your own in the tier.

 

BP rewards may also play an incentive role for Single players to give Doubles a try, as well as potentially aiding Tournament quotas and interest in Doubles in general. The recent 5th gen additions to the meta may also spice this modality up a bit. Not going to lie, I'm a huge Doubles fan (big surprise), mostly because I come from a 7th gen background where VGC is played a lot, but I know know I can't be the only one who wants this :(.

Watch tournaments and PSL, I for one wish Doubles was a tier that people were more interested in as I really enjoy the tier, I just don't see it happening, mostly due to people abusing the MM system to farm BP and breeding being quite a pain in the ass to a newer player to afford playing multiple tiers.

Pretty awesome, but how long did it last, or better, how many ranked cycles per day did it last? I also joined one of those few months ago, but sadly the hype died rather soon and after 1 cycle, there was nobody interested in repeating.
