Week one is upon us, so let's make this the best damn, competitive season ever. No uguuin'. Just straight up BUSCO WAR!

  • This event is all about competition, so get your shit straight and get these matches done. If you don't you're letting your teammates down, you're letting your opponent down, you're letting the community down, and most of all, you're letting yourself down. So shame on you, shame on your family, shame on your cow, and shame on your grandma for spawning at least half of your parents who birthed you if you bail week one. Oh yea, you'll get suspended for not showing up as well.

Ghosting & Coaching

  • Don't be a damn cheater. This is the PSL. Players can play for themselves. If you get caught, you're going to catch these iron fists of ban. Oh yea, there may or may not be an incentive for players to report any cheating. 

Revealing Team & Sets

  • For the love of God, do not be that guy screaming out in normal chat trying to predict moves, sets, and plays. It ruins the competitive atmosphere and you look annoying as all hell. If you want to do that shit, keep it to whisper. Your shitty commentary might actually affect gameplay.

Substitutions

  • If a manager needs a sub, they can sub a player out for a player on their bench. The player that was removed from the line up is now inactive for the remainder of the week. Substitutions are legal throughout the entirety of the played week and there are no limitations to how many subs you can make. 

For Players Scheduling Your Match

  • Contact your opponent by PM on Discord or the PokeMMO Forums as soon as possible.
  • Provide dates and times in order to schedule a match anytime throughout the week.
  • PokeMMO duels will take place at the Vermilion Ch 7 PC; Showdown matches will of course be on Showdown.
  • Matches that take place on Showdown will need to have a replay posted in this thread.
  • Announce your duel in this thread at least 10 minutes before it starts. If you don't a rematch will have to take place.
  • If you have trouble contacting your opponent, contact your manager and your opponent's manager so the appropriate actions can be made.
  • Extensions will only be given for extreme cases. Playing a match during another week can really set things back. 
  • If you can't find your opponent's forum name or IGN, just go to your opponent's team thread in the PSL Club and click the link.
  • If your opponent's PokeMMO Forum inbox is full, then contact that player by posting on their profile feed or on Discord
  • When you contact your opponent, present at least three (3) different times that you are available throughout the week, preferably on different days
  • You must respond to a PM by your opponent within 48 hours; if you do not you will need to be subbed out or face an activity decision loss
  • If a substitution is made, it will be as if a new week has started and the players will need to contact one another as outlined above
  • If you are unable to duel during the week, please request a substitution from your manager. Unforeseen events do happen.
  • If you believe your opponent cannot duel or has ignored your PM, please add the host and the related managers so that they can take appropriate action

OU w/ Team Preview

  • Schedule your match accordingly.
  • Before you start your match, preferably 2 hours or more, PM either the host or a small council member the team you intend on using and the items for which they hold. Telling an administrator your items will prevent switching items once you hear your opponent's team. For example, your opponent announces they will be using Magnezone and you have Skarmory, switching to Shed Hull would not be competitive and is not allowed.
  • Just prior to the start of your match, announce your team in normal chat or shout so that your opponent can "preview" it. You do not need to tell your opponent which items your pokemon hold, just which six pokemon you intend to use.
  • When you announce your teams, make sure there is a countdown so that you and your opponent announce at the same time. 
  • You may switch your lead accordingly once you hear your opponent's team.
  • Going to the PC after you announce your pokemon is not allowed and will result in a DQ.
  • The Pokemon you use during your match will have to match the pokemon that you announced and the pokemon you sent to the host or small council. Violation of such will result in DQ. 
  • The Items you use during your match will have to match the items you sent to the host or small council. Violation of such will result in DQ. 
  • Players may request to see which items were used by their opponent, in order to ensure legality, once the match is complete. Just PM the host or small council. 

 

  • Above all else, this is a unique format that should be fun and competitive. The PSL is designed to be fair and thus we rely heavily on players to be just in their actions. You spoil the event if you try to take advantage of loopholes and if caught, you will be severely punished. Just play the game and flexxx your skill.
