Due to the recent discussion on visible effectiveness, the idea of a Type/Weakness chart visible in the Pokedex has been entertained and is likely to be implemented, though nothing is certain.
The idea would pertain to Pokemon that you have "Seen," they would then have their weaknesses and type listed in the Pokedex, just as easily as their weaknesses are listed in-battle. This will allow for research when approaching a Pokemon/Trainer with predictable type usage. Not only will players be able to choose their best choice of move, but they can also start with an advantage based on research(Immunities/Not Very Effective, ect).
This will also help people to learn, why their Flamethrower was Super Effective against Lucario, yes he's a steel type.
This suggestion is mostly for voicing opinions as to how a system like this might work, ideally for an online community. Thanks!
