Make TMs craftable

Risadex

Question

Title.

This game already gives to a player which plans competitive breeding most parts of the resources they need via crafting (bar braces/hability pill)

Since this new update, people tends to spent more in TMs for their pokes then with new breeds (think if a guy have like 30 pokes which needs scald  - its like 1million yen just in ONE move - and 30 pokes is nothing for some players)

I am not giving recipe suggestion, just make them more reliable for people which really need them (btw I always use smeargle to reduce the TM cost from pokes, but smeargle cant breed with all pokes :T)

1m is also nothing for most who have 30+ comps.

TMs already cheap enough, stahp being lazy.

That was just an example.

And craft items/ farm new items requires much more willingness then just the "lazy" npc farm imo.

money doenst grow on trees. So either way, people would be spending their time farming. So this wouldn't be a very viable solution either. But the point is. It's a MMO, in every MMO, the main idea is grinding, things hold a value cause they take time to accomplish.

Just like Berries gives advantage for those who farm them instead of just alt Gym running, it could be more options to make them viable, it doesnt need to be easy LOL

Just an alternate way of farming them (since all things which are "infinite" in the original series, they tends to bring here as farmeable option instead of pure consumable)

While not a bad idea in concept, the idea in practice could be rather problematic for the economy.

Currently, TMs are our chosen 'Pure Money sink' move type, with Tutors getting items, Egg Moves getting breeding (effectively paying in mon), and Special moves getting BP.

The money spent on TMs is directly taken out of the economy, as the NPCs you give it to don't put it back into circulation.

As this sink is so often used, the removal it could have rather disastrous effects on the amount of yen still in circulation within the economy - likely leading to inflation.

To add to what I said earlier though, 'Tutor Moves' are effectively already our designated 'crafting' moves, just with you getting the Move as an end result instead of a TM.

This is fucking bullshit. EVERY comp player lost millions and millions on comps that AINT usable cuz new update. Having to pay 30-40k for each TM is a JOKE.

Why hurt the people that aint rich like comp players. Hurt the rich people that lowball shiny's and shiny hunt. Make leppa's 100k each

Sunk cost fallacy.

Whether comp players lost millions on comps that aren't usable is completely irrelevant to Darkshade's explanation as to why TM's cost pure yen.

Maybe prices could be lowered by a little bit, as I also believe they are overpriced at the moment.

But the general idea of TM's as money sink is a good one.

There is no reason to do this to comp players. Also take in consideration that breeders are very expensive to make comps.

You realize that right now the overall amount sunk is 'Breeding costs + TMs' (+Whatever else) ?

If you change that to just 'Breeding costs' you've just removed a significant % of the overall sink.

Whether the amount of money being sunk increases with an update doesn't actually matter - because it will stabililize itself and go back to the 'norm', with your scenario being without the aforementioned %.

It also matters even less when you consider that the amount of money being brought into the economy goes up with this patch also, due to more players being active.

It's not bullshit, it's math.

We can always add a 'Crafting Cost' to making the items, but it would ideally have to be less than what is being sunk right now, or it would just be made harder to get TMs.

On top of this though, as I've already pointed out - TMs have their niche in the different types of moves, with theirs being pure yen.
