0 Zackyie
This would be very convenient for comp players. Iirc this idea has been suggested multiple times and I really don't see any negatives to it. Unless we bring in ranked matchmaking into account, maybe players can get easy bp??? Link to comment

People who milk the system already log out to do the same exact thing either way. And is fairly easy to know who's doing it, since at some hours the same 2 names keep popping and having a 2 min battle everytime. Link to comment

Can make it so that the forfeit button isn't available before 5 minutes in the game. Similar to the LoL surrender @ 15 mechanic. That should avoid abuse. OrangeManiac and Draekyn 2 Link to comment

Would then have to add in a ban from matchmaking system for x amount of time for those that logout, pretty sure that is a thing also in the LoL system, used to have a friend that would get dc'ed a lot and always complained about it at least. 0 Toupi
There is "ban" system for leaving because you hurt your lol team this way. In pokemon you are team of your own so you are only one who is suffering due to bad connection. I don't see a reason to additionaly punish user with restrictions razimove 1 Link to comment

Just saw this toady, so could only answer today. In LoL or any team based game, leaving the game, places your team in a really awkward position in which you're most likely to lose. Here? You don't. Plus people already do that and abuse the system here, punishing a player for abandoning a lost match? That could only be a April fool joke. Link to comment

Issue is you can enter a "I want to forfeit" state in less than 30 seconds into a match, yes it solves abuse by also it'd feel weird, 5 mins probably too long, 1.5 mins seems more fair. No, if it's too short like you proposed, win-trading becomes possible in ranked matchmaking. (Surrender spam with a friend/multiple friends to gain rating). That is what needs to be prevented by having a minimum game time of at least 5 minutes. An average match takes about 15 minutes anyways, so you should definitely be prepared for such an amount of time before you sign up. What are your arguments for a 1.5 minute minimum? Link to comment

Mostly based around how easily it is on turn 3 to end up in a situation where you want to forfeit, and also people could possibly just time-out themselves at some point which only takes 3 minutes, It just feels like 5 minutes is quite long for this, maybe 1.5 is too short but while I get win-trading could become a potential issue there are gonna be tons of ways to do it, and forcing people to stick in a lost match for another 3 minutes after 2 minutes of flat-out being destroyed can be a bit saddening. I just feel 5 mins is a tad too long, although 1.5 mins on retrospect is probably too short. Link to comment

It's not to short, 1.5 min is what it can take for a match to end, if you're not prepared for some pokemon he's using. Link to comment

There's plenty of situations in which a match is going well, you misclick, rng screws you or the opponent simply outpredicts you, and things go south, why have to log out instead of just giving them the match? Then you lose the match like usual. Forfeit should not be used in situations where you lose within the first few turns anyway as a means to take away the true victory of your opponent because you got salty due to an outplay or rng.
