BurntZebra
If you're in this thread, you're probably interested in becoming a manager for PSL this season. Before you sign up, you should be familiar with the rules of PSL and the responsibilities of managers. Taken from the general thread, which was partially taken from the Smogon SPL thread. The manager shall send the host weekly rosters The manager shall ensure to his/her best capabilities that every match will be completed by the deadline The manager shall inform the host as to why a match failed to be completed in the event that one fails The managers shall inform the host of any substitutions that need to be made The manager shall inform the host of any attempts of cheating by his team or others The manager oversees all trades involving their team The manager oversees both drafts unless unable to be present, in which case the manager shall appoint someone to draft on their behalf The manager shall name a team captain who shall act in their steed should they be absent You should also consider these questions. Can I stay active through the whole season? Can I communicate well with my players? Can I handle team finances? Can I keep an eye on my players and those of the opponent? Do I have knowledge of the competitive scene and the players? Will I keep interest, even when I'm on the losing side? Do I understand and can I make my players understand the terms & conditions of the PSL? Will I maintain respect for my host and the decisions they make? Do I have the availability to manage a team, participate in a draft, and respond to the host whenever a question presents itself? If you answered yes to all these questions and understand your responsibilities as a manager, then you are free to sign up to be a manager, using the following form. Popular Post DoubleJ
Well this appears to be a dead thread, so I will happily set the bar for any would-be managers. IGN: DoubleJ PokeMMO Team: [LYLE] KingCheerios Experience: The complete seven seasons; acting as player, manager, and host Motivation: As most of you know, I'm a little competitive and I simply want to win. I am one of the three founders and leaders of [LYLE], one of the most prestigious teams in this game. I'm a decorated individual player, a former two-time Tier Council member, and I have been around since late-2012. I've given a lot to this game and it's been an awesome run. Aside from all that, The PokeMMO Super League is an event that really speaks to my heart, as it represents the best and brightest competitors in PokeMMO and highlights each in their own respective tiers. It brings players together that otherwise would never interact outside of a duel and it forces rivals to set aside their differences to help their teams. With that in mind, it is obvious that I would love the opportunity to once again manage a team. I've managed three times in the past, having minimal success for two of those seasons, but fortunately made a run to second place in PSL5 before deciding to host for two consecutive seasons. Any player that was with me on those Mountain teams, or hell any player on any team I was a part of, could tell you how dedicated I am to winning and supporting the players around me. I go above and beyond, and I empower the team to be champions. Unfortunately it just hasn't happened yet, but if anyone has the experience and will to push a team to the promise land, it's me. Oh and I'm also big on this thing called HYPE. So flexxx with me fam! Fluff: I kicked the majority of my team in order to better my odds of becoming a manager, and I invited the host to [LYLE]. If that isn't "fluffy" enough, I don't know what is =) xSparkie, Kizhaz, Fipp and 34 others 37 Link to comment

EricTheGreat
IGN: EricTheGreat PokeMMO Team: VVVV Experience: I have been a player of PokeMMO since the very beginning in 2012. I've been apart of legendary moments, tournaments, and teams. I've seen the meta, as well as players, come and go. I have been involved in 5 PSL seasons: one, two (PSL Champion), three, six, and seven. The managers I've played with have been some of the best, as well as some of the worst. I took my experience throughout the years and put it towards my own team in season seven. I managed the Aesthetics Crew [MISC] last season. Prior to the season, and during the first few months, I was taken as a joke. No one believed in my managerial capabilities and doubted me from the start. I proposed a risky trade that the managers called very beneficial to the other manager. The manager who took the trade ended dead last that season, and I believe my trade played a part in that finish. To end season 7, the Aesthetics Crew took 3rd in the regular season. I earned the respect of managers and players due to my competitive integrity. Along with a 3rd place finish, I played 17 out of 19 players on my roster. I was voted best manager of the season by the captains, and my roster contained 4 "best of" awards. Even with the little opportunities I was given before season 7, the Aesthetics Crew turned out very successful. The experience I've gathered over the past five seasons will be enough to become a champion of the most competitive season yet. Motivation: This season I'm hungry. I'm not being the nice guy anymore. I'm doing what it takes within my team to become champion. With the number of tiers being decreased, only the best of the best will be playing on my roster. Further training, assistance, lending, and communication will occur within my team to ensure a PSL championship. Every season you hear of a manager who abandons their team. I never, and will never, abandon my team. It pisses me off that despite the "competitive" application process behind becoming a manger, managers who abandon their team or purposely draft sub-par rosters still exist. I aim to be the best, and stay the best. This season I won't be taken as a joke. I was at a disadvantage last season due to being unable to draft certain players because of fear that they wouldn't respect me and my decisions. After my performance and growth as a manager, this won't happen again. The past is over, and the future is now. I'll feed my players off of my motivation and thirst for glory. Popular Post Mike
IGN: TheChampionMike PokeMMO Team: RISÉ Experience: Joined PSL 1, 6 and 7 as a player. Watched majority of season 5. Motivation: Well I'll let you in on a little story. As many of you know I am a staff member. The reason for me becoming staff isn't really known to anyone so I will tell you it. I became staff to make officials for you guys and give you all entertainment. Ofcourse more reasons got added a long the way but this was my main drive for applying at first. At the time officials were very scarce and people were quite bored. I'd like to think I atleast gave a lot of people the enjoyment of pokemon again. And I think that still holds true to this day. I am someone who cares a lot about the community and what you guys want and being able to become a manager of the biggest community tournament ever would be a honor. I have hosted a lot of officials and have managed them more than fine. I can motivate a team to work together and I would love to do that. Because the spirit of PSL is that you make friends with people you never really talked to before and get connections with people from other teams. Meanwhile still destroying the competition that is. Because who doesn't want the gold and the glory! Atleast I do, and I'm out for it. I will go far, real far for it. :] What else? Well I just love competitive pokemon. I've been playing it for a couple of years now and it is still enjoying me to this day. I might not be the best of the best but I sure do know what I'm doing. Some of the greatest matches ever have been played in PSL so being able to manage would be amazing. Vorred was manager we obviously didn't place. PSL 5, Player for Raging Lions. Champions. PSL 6, Manager of West High Knights. 3rd Place after everyone choked. PSL 7, Manager of The Human Caterpie. Champions. I may not be good at a lot in this game but when it comes to managing PSL no one can compare. Motivation: The best prove they are so time and time again, and that's what i'm here to do. Fluff: A lot of people complain about beta managers every season so i feel compelled to grace this competition with my managerial prowess. I'm already thinking Schwifty Shiftrys for team name unless I think of something better. Countless community combat wins. Motivation: I want to be manager again because I've shown two very strong teams that most put their money on to win the whole league, only to choke out deep into playoffs. It wouldn't feel right to leave it there, I want to win(3rd time lucky?). I'm a serious manager and do what I can to make sure my players are happy while also trying to be fun and making sure my team bonds. You don't want a team that doesn't talk to each other(VALE had 11k replies on our Discord) otherwise your players can lose interest. My biggest motivation is whooping Elcoolios sweet ass. I believe like 90% of managers are shit and are clueless as to what to do - most just getting their most credible players to do everything for them. I was robbed of manager of the season and now I want to finally get it when a system gets setup to make the selection phase less bullshit. Fluff: Multiple official winner in multiple tiers(OU, NU, Doubles). I can play every tier including showdown. I have comps for every tier which I generously let my players use. Popular Post LifeStyle
IGN: LifeStyle PokeMMO Team: NØRE Experience: PSL6 - My 1st ever PSL, pretty much when I started taking a more serious approach to the competitive aspect of this game, played for Caramello Komalas. Joined LYLE and grew a lot as a comp player, ended up getting carried by NikhilR and yangsam in PSL6 Finals vs Baenines, ez champs. Went 5-4 that season. PSL7 - My 1st PSL played as a Captain (for The Outraging Lions), at this point I think I had proven myself to the community. Unfortunately, even tho our team was full of talent, the motivation just wasn't there, we couldn't deliver when it mattered most and we ended up in last place. So basically both PSL's I played were complete opposite experiences, went from noob champion to experienced loser, RIP. Went 3-4 that season (Shoulda been 5-2 tho hue fuck this game). Motivation: I think you can figure out why I want to be a manager but I'll explain anyways. I have a bunch of goals set for this game, as for what goes in terms of PSL, it's basically just wanting to win it both as player and as manager. Well, I already achieved one of those, so it's time I go for the other right? So why should I be picked for manager? Because I actually play this game. You legit won't find that many players who are as active as I am right now (I think 7 official finals in 2017 proves my point) so I think I have a clear understanding of which players are hunting for glory, who is grinding and who is still laying back on shit won from 2013. I'll make a thicc squad full of hungry mofos, motivate it and get them wins. Fluff: Got beef with lots of people on this game, PSL needs me for the quality salt and Gluumuk memes. Also I need to kick JJ's ass if he gets manager too. Edited May 23, 2017 by LifeStyle DoubleJ, Fipp, KoolT93 and 31 others 34 Link to comment

PSL 6 as a player under coolio's casual shit team, idk how we made playoffs, Parke went 3-0 then 0-5, Coolio did the worst trade of all times... but toast and me OP and tried to carry from UU. PSL 7 as captain (noob @Osuki) for VALE under K9's management, I set up the discord for the team and got everyone talking and bonding..Kay is a bad manager. Truly the best team I've ever been in, sadly I couldn't perform like I should've, we went undefeated because we had a great team atmosphere but then choked in playoffs just like @Quint predicted (fuck u). Motivation: I wanted to be manager last PSL, and couldn't get picked because I was forum banned (or so JJ says), and honestly I felt like I deserved it since at the time I was active, and I know pretty much everyone from the comp community...even the spanish nabb haxers that everyone talks about. I'm keen I can make a good competitive squad and lead them to victory. Fluff: Eric is trash. Coolio sucks and only plays CCs. Everyone gets salty at me, you need that for PSL, it's also fun triggering people all the time. But on a more serious note I'm easy to work with and I'm not gonna be the next episode in the 'gbweed vs. PSL' history. Experience: Took part in 5 out of 7 PSLs as player. Won under Gunthug, also won the best player award last season for a tier played by three people. I'm good. Motivation: Despite not playing Pokemmo anymore, I still have eyes and ears within the competitive community and like to keep track of what's going on every now and then. Having been a player in most PSL seasons, I learned about the various types of players, from the skillful and reliable to the lazy and under performing, all combinations in between. I have a mind map of what kind of players would make a great team, and I know just how to use them, taking other teams into account (something that too few managers have been doing over the past seasons). It's been 7 seasons and I think it's time PSL finally saw Keith as a manager. Fluff: Competitive to the bone, ready to fight anyone I must in a civil manner. While some sad mouths bring me up as being inactive, I'd like to point out that I arranged all my matches on time during my entire PSL history, never going inactive during any season under any excuse.
