Kaerodactyl
hey, I just bred a jolly Hitmonchan for NU but I kinda don't know what is the best moveset for it. was thinking about mach punch, earthquake, fire punch, return. Any suggestions? thanks Link to comment
Risadex
Why not using the stab Hi jump kick? Link to comment
RysPicz
Primeape is better probably, although it'd have to rely on Low Kick instead of HJK. Link to comment

DoubleJ
Since you opted for Jolly, you might benefit more from a LO set to avoid getting locked into a not-so-favorable Fighting-type attack, especially in a meta dominated by defensive Grass-types. Hitmonchan Item: Life Ball Nature: Jolly EVs: 252 Attack / 252 Spe Mach Punch High Jump Kick Ice Punch Earthquake You can't run the perfect wall-breaker, but this thing certainly has a lot going for it. Namely, the element of surprise because who knows what 4 moves you're running or what item you have (CB, Life Ball, Scarf). The moves I chose offer the best of everything IMO. Mach Punch is just a super reliable STAB Priority that can force Raichu into a 50/50 and tag those Salac abusers. High Jump Kick is by far the best option, you just have to realize that there is risk associated with this high-powered option. Fortunately, Protect doesn't have much of a place in NU as there are fairly few powerful CB users that would require this. Ice Punch + EQ offers some pretty damn good coverage. You can tag Grass-types, including Victreebel which you outspeed, and also Scyther, Claydol, and Xatu. Earthquake is there for a safer option to hit Aggron should you be in a 1v1, and also something to hit Torkoal reliably which does carry Protect most of the time. You can also tag Metang if you it risks staying on you. A few things to be afraid of with this set? Mantine, Pinsir, Grumpig, Sableye, and Chimecho. All of these can basically swap into you without fear, considering they can tank every hit and wall you after. Especially since you're not Choice Band. A last minute suggestion, remind yourself that Hitmonchan is going to be at its best predicting switch ins and hitting accordingly because it won't be getting a lot of OHKO's. It forces switches and can gain you some much needed momentum, so be a boss and do work. Maelstrom, Mike, Kaerodactyl and 2 others 5 Link to comment
