Killjoy
Okay guys, I was playing Pokemon Showdown and getting a few tips of good Pokemon from the Rate My Team section of Smogon. If this was added it could really benefit people that are looking to get into competitive Pokemon as they can gain strategies and ideas for good Pokemon. I have searched The Suggestion Box for "rate my team section" and "team ratings" and I could not find anything. Eon264, 01110101, KuddzZ and 1 other 4 Link to comment
Atuan
Two searches and nothing? POST IT Seriously, though, I think it's a good idea and it would remove a lot of clutter from GD and, for some fucking reason, the Guide Tavern. EDIT: Unlike similar ideas, this wouldn't really work as a Sticky in another forum. vsalinas005 1 Link to comment
Strych
But guys, once you have helped me with my team, it'll be a guide! Arcanine best nature? DW, it's a "guide" once I get my answer Edit: On-topic: Yes, I support this idea Atuan 1 Link to comment
Atuan
Stry, it's like my brain is a tree and your post is those little cookie elves. Link to comment
Strych
Stry, it's like my brain is a tree and your post is those little cookie elves. Well it would be better if it wasn't filled with explosive Helium. Link to comment
Atuan
Helium is non-flammable. What part of that are you still not getting? Link to comment
Strych
Well, obviously the core concept. Atuan 1 Link to comment
Atuan
I learned that flammable and inflammable mean the same thing. Link to comment
Elite
This should be a sub-forum of Competition Alley. -support Link to comment
Atuan
My only issue so far is... are there any subforums? I don't think so. Why start now? Link to comment
Elite
My only issue so far is... are there any subforums? I don't think so. Why start now? Organization of relevance. And technically there are the 'Archive' subforums of bug report and support. Link to comment
TastyPig
I support this, because one day I wanted to create one of those threads of my own but didn't feel confortable with any of the actual sections of the forum. I see them in the Guide Tavern and General Discussion, but they always seem... out. A separated subforum would be fine, even if it's not used very often. Do you know how much space does it mean to the forum database? Like... 1kb. Link to comment
WolfSpirit
I like this idea. It would be great for people like me who is just starting to get into trying to IV train. I KNOW I'm not alone. I've seen a lot of people interested in being able to compete but need some help with figuring some things out. It'd be a great place to ask "what would be the best IVs for this pokemon" and "what would be a good move" so long as it actually makes sure people TRY to think of things for themselves. Palpatine
I would support this as long as the entire forum isn't filled with threads like 'what is the best nature for this etc.' I would want it to just be rate my team. To be honest, I think we need someone with A LOT of spare time to make a guide on every pokemon discussing which nature is best and why (this could be stickied in the guides forum) so that the problem of 'what is the best nature for this etc.' threads can be solved. Otherwise... I support GaurdianGod and WolfSpirit 2 Link to comment
jupsto
defo needs a section for discussing pokemon builds, both asking and posting. Link to comment
Strych
defo needs a section for discussing pokemon builds, both asking and posting. Why do you keep bumping threads and adding no additional input? Ehhh Link to comment
Killjoy
There could be some sort of post restriction to stop new members making threads like "wat is the best nattur for a sharppeddo" EDIT - Post restriction could be something like 50-100? Link to comment
Strych
I think it should be strictly rate my team. As in no questions like "best nature for x" or "are these IVs good?" Link to comment
TastyPig
If you restrict the questions then those not allowed will continue to fall under Guide Tavern and General Discussion. Just make it a place for all questions related to training/building a team. Link to comment
Strych
I believe General Discussion is the place for those questions Link to comment
Thoth
Gets my support. Maybe name is something catchy like The Showroom. you can show off pokemon you have caught good ev/iv's lucky or even cool things like catching a shiny. You can show off your team and have players rate it, or even post your current team and ask for input on it. Link to comment
WolfSpirit
I think the idea of rate my team/show off my team. I also like something that will help teach people what natures/stats are best for specific pokemon. (either place to ask such questions or simply a large wiki or post that says as such. as was mentioned earlier) Probably a post because the same question would be asked over and over. Unless simply it's "Is this a decent pokemon? what should I EV it in?" Though again, the wiki would be better. The show off/rate is defiantly a nice section though. It would clear up the General Discussion. Link to comment
