Tier list update July 2016

Firstly I would like to start off with some changes to how the Tier lists will be managed.

 

The previous usage movement system wasn't very reliable as the usage based movements occurred very sporadic.

There was no real schedule implemented alongside it and Test/Quick bans during a period would invalidate a large sample size of the collected usage statistics.

 

The Tier Council has decided to work with a fixed schedule regarding Bans and movements.

It has been decided that the First Sunday of every month will be the date in which Bans and Usage Based Movements occur.

 

This means that, on Sunday August 7th, the next set  of Usage Movements alongside potential balancing bans will take place.

Usage Statistics are collected and processed from now until the 5th of August, so the Tier Council has two days to review those numbers and analyse potential bans.

 

We believe these changes will benefit the transparency of the Tier Council's decisions. It is also very useful for the players to know when to expect these changes instead of them happening inconsistently, potentially causing confusion.

 

For this schedule to work, a two day grace period will start after the Tier List has been updated, in which a quick-bans may be possible.

Moving up from Under Used to Over Used (UU -> OU)

• Breloom

 

Moving up from Never Used to Under Used (NU -> UU)

• Hypno
• Kabutops

 

Moving down from Under Used to Never Used (UU -> NU)

• Quagsire
• Electabuzz
• Ninetales
• Absol
• Gligar

 

Additionally:

 

• Dodrio is being banned from Under Used to BL due to Uber Offense Characterstic. For more details see link.
