so if I ev train my pokemon for let's say attack and get 252 ev so my attack stat will increase by 64? 4ev=1 stat 252 ev=?

Am I correct?

not 100%. Because there's a iv bonus though. I don't know it works the bonus. But it does exist

yes, when it reach lvl 100, if not, it will be proporcional; for example, for a lvl 50 pokemon its 8 EVs for 1 point.

If the IV is ODD, you get stats at these intervals: 4/8/12/16/20... etc

Starts at 4, then continues to gain every +4

If the IV is EVEN, you get stats at these intervals: 8/12/16/20/24... etc

Same as above, but starts at 8.

If it's ODD, you can put 252 EVs into that stat and it will make use of them all.

If it's EVEN, you should only put 248 EVs into that stat because it does not get anything from the additional 4.

This is very useful when calculating like Laz said above.

What should be noted is that this occurs at level 50, which is the level used for competitive play in PokeMMO.

The people who said 4 EV = 1 stat aren't exactly wrong, but that doesn't happen until level 100.

I was going to edit my post and add that notice, but I saw he made a thread about playing comp with a Gengar today, so I just assumed he's going to be playing with competitive level 50s.

If lv50 is 8ev/1pt, why people ev train to 252 ? Better 248 isnt it ?

As stated by k9

31 iv -> 252 ev

30 iv -> 248 ev for example, yes, both is for lvl 50.

Calculation result for my lvl50 timid hp elec Golduck (30 sp atk and 31 speed): sp atk at 50 146 with 248 and 252 ev's. Speed 150 with 252 ev's and only 149 with 248 ev's. (would also lose 1 point without speed nature)

If my Golduck had 0 iv's in sp atk, it would rise from 100 to 131 at lvl50 with 252 AND 248 ev's because 0 iv=even number. If sp atk iv is 1, it would still be 131 with 248 ev's but 132 with 252 ev's.

Tell me if I'm wrong :

IV : 31 - 31 - 31 - 30 - 31 - 31

EV : 6 - 0 - 0 - 252 - 0 - 252

Here the atk spé 252 is useless ? I can make it 248, and put 4 in another stat, like def spé ?

Put 4 more on hp stat would be useless too isnt it ?

Yes, 248 sp atk would be right, no, 8 in HP would give you 1 stat more compared to 4 in hp.

Oh ok, i know understand.

Odd = 252 allowed

Even = 4 allowed

and no variation between 8-248

______

Edit : Yes, the calculator tell i'm right :)

So it's :

ODD : 8 / 16 / 24 / ... / 244 / 252

EVEN : 4 / 12 / 20 / ... / 240 / 248
