For Shooting. Imperishable Nights. Becoz of Mokou and Kaguya, and said to be the easiest Touhou Evah!!! But still I cant beat it :3

Touhou Puppet Dance Performance Append: Shard of Dreams. For unofficial comp Touhou in Pokemon style! Unofficial game tho...

7 is usually a  good spot, or 6 but its a little more difficult/less new player friendly(not that any of them are actually new player friendly, they are all difficult).  They are the first of the non-pc98 releases..

Start with Imperishable Night for sure (by far the easiest), then try either Perfect Cherry Blossom or Mountain of Faith (second easiest). After that you can start getting a bit more ambitious and try out Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Subterannean Animism (hardest one imo), Undefined Fantastic Object, or any of the newer games since.

Hell if you grab a PC-98 emulator you can even mess around with the older games. Lotus Land Story/Mystic Square are worth playing at the very least, and it's pretty cool going on a virtual touhou history lesson.

Also Yuyuko best 2hu.

So I started playing Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil and I have to say it's mostly a matter of getting used to attack patterns and reacting but,

BTW to those who plays Touhou Puppet Dance Performance Append: Shard of Dreams.

TPDP Wiki:

• 2016-07-08 The Interface Translation Patch for Yume no Kakera/Shard of Dreams was released.

So to anyone who wants to plays TPDP Comps (DDoremi Meta) this translation patch will be helpful. It doesnt translate story dialogues tho.
