"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" -Gary Oak, our true Pokemon Champion

PokeMMO and Pokemon in general rather it is catching and raising your Pokemon has always been a long game of grinding. The majority of the Pokemon game is dependent on grinding, farming and a little know how with every single small detail and hidden mechanics throughout the history of the Pokemon franchise in order to accomplish any sort of competitive team and play. This is not just Pokemon with this type of game play progression but majority of most MMO formats in general. Thus this is why if you are a serious trainer that you take every step and counter measure to assure yourself that you are able to get to end game as fast and efficiently as possible with the least amount of money, time, hassle and luck! Last thing anybody needs is to completely relay on luck to be self efficient. This is why it is essential that you optimize your Pokemon farming team as soon as possible before anything else. The least amount of effort spent on farming and catching your end game goal, the richer and stronger the trainer you will become! To do this, we must make use of our 6 team slots as much as possible with the least amount of Pokemon possible.

What should my PvE (Player versus Environment) team look like?

We need to make the most use out of our 6 slots and to do that we have to utilize every slot actively at all times to allow us to move forward towards our end game goal. At the same time we need to be able to have the ability to move around the world quickly, be able to defend ourselves, have access to catch any Pokemon easily with the least amount yet quick as possible at all times. So how do we do this...?

IDEAL END GAME PVE PARTY EXAMPLE
-Poacher (aka catches Pokemon) OR Field Ability SLAVE (that can catch Pokemon/grind trainers WITHOUT the need to switch in-battle)
-
HM SLAVE (who is also a powerhouse, defender at Level 100)
-
Payday/Covert or Thief/Sweet Scent/Pick Up SLAVE (depends what you're doing but said Pokemon can easily achieve multiple roles with 1 slot)
-
EGG
-EXP Share SLAVE (for the purpose of GLT grinding and/or Pokedex)
-
Happiness SLAVE (for the purpose of GLT grinding and/or Pokedex)

This is what I boiled down to be the most effective layout for your end game PvE team and the layout that would be best to accomplish first thing regardless if you want to properly maximize your farming! Each section of this guide will break down the reasoning and what Pokemon you should use for each role. Also, any details mention on how to properly Smeargle, use Pick Up or simply how to make money in general, please refer to the guides below that are excellent sources that would not only explain certain things in detail but are also excellently written! So, lets begin!

Poachers (aka Pokemon catchers)

Depending on what you may encounter, you will find your best build here :

HM SLAVE: The Versatile Body Guards

Spoiler

HM Slaves have been around since the beginning of time. Even in Pokemon Green/Red/Blue/Yellow you have to depend on these guys to simply move forward in the game and to travel around the world. We need them and they need us because otherwise, who would feed them at the end of the day? These fellows consist of 4 HM moves in all 4 move slots and allow us to teleport around the world, move on water and simply function as a Pokemon trainer. Due to PokeMMO's unique mechanics exclusive to this game, we are able to override HM moves with any other move regardless allowing us to skip the need of having multiple HM SLAVES. Quite nifty as it save us many useful party slots that can be used for more important things! Since HM Moves tend to be used in competitive, it allows us to use respectable moves to sweep enemy trainers and defend ourselves from sudden death in the wild making this team member quite versatile!

149.png(Dragonite) Best Bodyguard, best slave   "YOU LOYAL! I RESPECT YOU!" -DJ Kaled

-Brave Nature
-[252 Attack EVs] + [252 Sp. Attack EVs]

-[31 Attack IVs] + [31 Sp. Attack IVs]
-HM MOVE 1
-HM MOVE 2
-Surf (can be replaced with any HM at any time if needed)
-Fly (can be replaced with any HM at any time if needed)

Dragonite is the most prominent creature for the job as not only does he have the bulk plus the damage to protect you from any emergencies necessary. It also can defeat the Redfire/Leafgreen Elite 4 with ease, sweep trainers and most important, has access to every single HM move (besides 1) in the game. There is absolutely no competition, not even Bidoof to compete with Dragonite as the role of HM Slave. Key note though, the only HM move that this fellow does not have access to is Flash. However in PokeMMO only 1 or 2 caves are in darkness and not only is it not required to pass through these caves, you never need to do it more then once as there is no need to ever enter deep inside those caves again making Flash virtually worthless.

235.png(Smeargle) HM Slave + HORDE EV Trainer   (Credits to Uncandango for idea and the math behind it)

-Equipped with Special Choice Band

-Modest/Quiet Nature (due note that speed is almost useless in PvE thus more budget for Quiet)
-[31 Sp. Attack IVs]
-[252 Sp. Attack EVs]

-Sweet Scent (maxed PP with PP Up)
-Surf
-Fly
-Hyper Voice

The idea behind this to use over Dragonite is to EV train 5 Pokemon at the same time (not required of course) but to also farm through via horde mechanic. This requires 1 less slot in you party then normal which allows you to mass EV farm effectively. You max out Sweet Scent's PP to allow you to farm the most hordes without having to heal back at the Pokemon Center since it is a out of battle move. Mantines/Tentacool/Tentacruel have a pretty inconvenient typing making Surf on the weaker side for 0HKO so Hyper Voice would fixes that issue by not only being a multiple hit move but also being STAB for Smeargle to gain power from. Special Choice Band only helps reassure the 0HKO happens. You can also use this set to farm every other EV stat in the game as well with no troubles. Overall a very good niche set that definitely can carry it's own weight depending on the player's play style. If EV training multiple Pokemon is your thing or you need that extra slot, Smeargle can be a excellent solution.

Wildcard Slot: Sweet Scent, Pay Day, Pick Up, Covert/Thief

Spoiler

This slot in your team can be a very diverse slot and can usually function multiple of the via above mention roles above at the same time. To break it down...

-Pay Day is a move that has a unique, changed functionality in PokeMMO which allows you to gain some extra cash at the end of after every battle (please note though it only works once per battle now). Thus optimally we would want to 0HKO the wild encounter/trainer's Pokemon through using Pay Day.

-Sweet Scent is a out of combat move that requires 5 PP per use that would allow you to instantly enter a Pokemon battle and if a horde spawns in the area, guaranteed the horde battle. This can be very helpful for EV training, catching Pokemon and gathering items since horde battles increases the chances of items dropping, etc.

-Covert/Thief  is a in battle move which allows you to obtained a item held by a wild Pokemon or to temporary steal a item in PvP/trainer battles. This is quite useful while searching for Everstones, Hardstons, Red/Blue/Yellow Shards, Metal Coats, etc. held by wild Pokemon. Keep in mind that the Covert/Thief target must be holding no item to obtain the item. Lastly due to unique PokeMMO mechanics, if you are not within level range of by below 5 with the wild encounter Pokemon, you have a % chance to break the item on contact which causes the item to disappeared into nothingness.

-Pick Up is a ability that allows you to randomly loot additional items at the end of every battle while this Pokemon is at your lead slot. The items you loot are completely depends on the location you are at and thus requires additional research to take advantage of this ability. I recommend checking out the Community Pick Up Guide written by KayineXL for additional details. http://forums.pokemmo.eu/index.php?/topic/57984-community-pickup-guide/

With all this in mind, here are some commonly used set ups, all which are viable depending on the situation followed by...

053.png(Persian) The Standard Trainer's Primary Pay Day Sweeper

-Requires Level 100 for maximum effectiveness

-Equipped with Amulet Coin
-Brave Nature
-[252 Attack EVs] + [252 Sp. Attack EVs]
-[31 Attack IVs] + [31 Sp. Attack IVs]

-Pay Day

-Return

-Bite/Faint Attack

-Water Pulse/Hidden Power Water

The most prominent Pay Dayer in the game and for good reason. It has the most rounded stats/typing of all Pay Day Pokemon options and it naturally learns Bite/Faint Attack while only requiring a rather unused TM to be at it's maximum effectiveness. Water Pulse/Hidden Power Water is there simply to take out all the level 60+ Steelix, Golems and Onxy that dominate the late game and more specifically, to 0HKO Bruno's Steelix in the Elite 4 while farming. Bite/Faint Attack has the exact same damage and PP so it personal preference. Personally I believe Bite is the better option as it has a chance to flinch and there a few Pokemon in Redfire/Leafgreen's Elite 4 Persian cannot 1 shot preventing you from taking some damage if it ever does flinch. Last thing to note, all you need is this Persian right here and your HM Slave buddy Dragonite that only knows Waterfall, Surf, Fly, Strength as it moveset to take on the entire Elite 4 rematch for Redfire/Leafgreen without the need for a single healing item or revive. Use Persian as your primary Island Runner and you should get a lot of use of this Pokemon.

022.png(Fearow) The Rich Trainer's Primary Pay Day Sweeper

-Requires Level 100 for maximum effectiveness

-Equipped with Amulet Coin

-Brave Nature

-For EV Training you can go either or with...
[252 Attack EVs] + [178 Sp. Attack EVs] + [80 Speed EVs]  =  Hidden Power Water set

[252 Attack EVs] + [182 Sp. Attack EVs] + [76 Speed EVs]  =  Drill Peck set
-For IV Breeding you can go either or with...

[31 Attack IVs] + [30 Sp. Attack IVs] + [30 Speed IVs]  =  Hidden Power Water set
[31 Attack IVs] + [31 Sp. Attack IVs] + [31 Speed IVs]  =  Drill Peck set
-Pay Day
-Return (Maxed PP IF opt with Hidden Power Water)

-Heat Wave (Maxed PP IF opt with Drill Peck)

-Final move slot can go either or with...

Hidden Power Water(IF Hidden Power Water, I HIGHLY recommend have a HM_Dragonite accompany you during Redfire/Leafgreen Elite 4 runs for Agatha)

Drill Peck(IF Drill Peck, I HIGHLY recommend having a HM_Dragonite accompany you during Sevii Island Pay Day runs due to Island 6's Golems/Onxys)

Fearow is a completely unnecessary money sink and while technically the best Pay Day sweeper in the game, a Fearow that is more effective then Persian (due to giving it the right stats and training) is simply a status quote or for somebody who is a OCD efficiency freak like me. The advantages of having a properly trained Fearow is very miniscule where I can even state that it isn't simply worth making one for the sake of sanity and money. What is the 1 advantage that Fearow has that makes it outperform his cat brethren? He has a slightly faster and safer Leafgreen/Redfire Elite 4 run and a incredibly slightly faster Sevii Island run IF you opt for the correct moves AND if you have a fully trained HM Slave Dragonite. While running the Sevii Island, there are a total of 2 Fortresses that you will encounter that cannot be one shot by Persian's Water Pulse/Hidden Power Water where Heat Wave CAN kill the Fortresses in 1 hit. In the Elite 4, Fearow is able to 0HKO more of Lorelei's Pokemon named Cloyster and Lapras thanks to Heat Wave and Fearow's more powerful base attack thus saving it some damage and time through the run. The IV and EV spread given out is so you can outrun 2 of the Elite 4's Pokemon (Level 66 Crobat and Level 70 Areodactyl) by a total of 1 speed point IF those Pokemon spawned with a Speed+ Nature and 31 Speed IV's (a unlikely but possible event). All trainer Pokemon are spawned with random natures, abilities and IV's so the math was taken account for highest possible speed stat possibility. Brave Nature was taken over any other nature because Fearow already has a terrible defensive typing for Sevii Island/Elite 4 runs and already very low base defenses and HP stats. You lose a lot less Special Attack off this trade and you only need so much to begin with to 1 shot all the necessary Pokemon through these runs. Plus you lose less useful stats through running Brave Nature versus Adamant Nature despite having the need to EV Train speed. The whole reasoning for the PP UPs on your moves is simply because of Island 6 there are a lot of Steel and Rock type trainers that will simply wall you if you don't have the proper moves even at Level 100 and since Heat Wave only has 10 PP (versus Water Pulse/Hidden Power's 20 PP) you simply don't have enough PP to get you through the run without PP UPs. Similar reason to Return, you don't have enough PP or damage to get you through the entirely of Island 7 without maxing out Return's PP. With Persian it is less of a worry because you had less need to split your attack and special attack stat so overall you could do more consistent damage through your physical attacks. After all both Persian and Fearow have terrible special attack that we are forced to utilize. Drill Peck can be used over Hidden Power Water if you are simply wanting to have a better Elite 4 run as Gengar's/Misdrevous's are immune to Return though for fighting Agatha I just recommend sweeping her with your HM_Dragonite and saving Fearow for the rest of E4. Keep in mind that you will not be able to 1 shot many of the Golems/Onxy at Island 6 if you were to choose Drill Peck over Hidden Power Water making your island runs slower (the main purpose of a Pay Day Pokemon).

195-m.png(Quagsire) Everstone Thief

-DAMP Ability

-EXACTLY Level 30

-Bold/Impish Nature
-[31 HP IVs] + [31 Defense IVs]

-[252 HP EVs] + [252 Defense EVs]
-Thief (Maxed PP with PP Up)
-Recovery (Maxed PP with PP Up)
-FREE SLOT 1
-FREE SLOT 2

One of the most known move set in the game right now. Designed to do 1 thing and it's very good at doing it and that is to farm Everstone at Team Magma's Hideout. Everstones fetch for 20~25k a piece as of May 02, 2016 and it just so happens that Geodude and Graveler have very high encounter rates at Team Magma's Hideout. Damp is there to prevent any rocks from exploding on you thus killing Quagsire and Recovery is to heal from any residue damage from Rock Throws and Magnitudes. Watch out for hordes as they will kill you and try not to level up as if you level up even 1 or 2 levels, you have the chance to potentially break your "theft" Everstone.

052.png(Meowth) Pick Up+Pay Day: EV Trainer/Pure Pay Day Grind

-Pick Up Ability

-Brave Nature
-[31 Attack IVs] + [31 Sp Attack IVs]

-[252 Attack EVs] + [252 Sp Attack EVs]

-Pay Day (Maxed PP with PP Up)

-Odor Sleuth

-Hyper Voice/Return

-Water Pulse/Hidden Power Water  <-- Due note that Shadow Ball/Bite/Faint Attack are also options but is over redundant because Odor Sleuth allows you to hit Ghost types.

Don't dare use this for the Sevii Islands/Elite 4 grind as this Pokemon stats are low as is. It wouldn't effectively farm very well during either grinds and thus this is where Persian comes into play over Meowth. Meowth is useful in other ways and I can almost immediately recommend raising one right after Persian. Meowth has access to the ability Pick Up and Pay Day at the same time which puts him in a unique situation where he can freely Pay Day grind while picking up very useful items. You can do this while EV training too and multitask money making and EV training at the same time for mass profits! Mt. Moon is a excellent example of this as you can farm Attack EV's at Paras for a 100% spawn rate and commonly pick up Everstones, Hardstones, mushrooms and Moon Stones while doing so. Everstones are more common then you think they are! It's essentially killing 3 birds with 1 stone. Odor Sleuth is for hitting Ghost types and to farm Pick Up at the Pokemon Tower too. Faint Attack/Bite/Shadow Ball isn't necessary since no Ghost type Pokemon in the game have any water immunity and Odor Sleuth+Hyper Voice is faster to wipe the horde with anyhow. You SHOULD be fainting Pokemon in 1 move anyhow. Hyper Voice is a option if you want to be able to killed hordes more easily as it hits multiple targets but you can also opt for Return if you need the damage for whatever reason (I for one cannot think of a reason as of this patch).

264.png(Linoone) Pick Up+Trick: Held Item Farming

-Pick Up Ability

-Bold/Relaxed Nature (due note that speed is almost useless in PvE thus more budget for Relaxed)

-[31 Sp. Attack IVs] + [HP/Defense/Special Defense IV's are optimal but not required one bit]

-[252 HP EVs] + [128 Defense EVs] + [128 Sp. Defense EVs]

-Trick (Maxed PP with PP Up)

-Super Fang (Maxed PP with PP Up)

-Surf/Odor Sleuth (Maxed PP if opt for Surf)

-Thunder Wave/Odor Sleuth

Linoone has a Trick up his sleeve with this move set! Trick swaps held items with your opponent which allows us to see whatever or not the wild Pokemon has a useful held item to catch or not! You do not get to keep the item that you swapped with Trick however it gives us enough information to know if it is worth catching that wild Pokemon or not. Is it holding a good item? Good then catch it! Just to make things even easier for you, you don't even have to swap out to your Smeargle to catch the opposing Pokemon thanks to Super Fang and Thunder Wave! Inflict paralyzation on them if it's necessary for easier catching and hit them for 50% of their health with Super Fang then simply throw a ball. Easy as that since Super Fang inflicts a fixed damage of 50% of their current health every use. Odor Sleuth is simply a option if you are wanting to hunt Silk Scarf at Pokemon Tower or simply wanting to hit Ghost type Pokemon with Super Fang. It is entirely optional but you do have to sacrifice your only attacking move (if you are trying to farm for the sole purpose of Pick Up or your ability to inflict status on them if you do. Depends on what you're trying to farm honestly.

216.png(Teddiursa) Pick Up+Sweet Scent:  Horde Item Farming

-Special Choice Band is optional in certain circumstances
-Pick Up Ability

-Quiet Nature

-[31 Attack IVs] + [31 Sp. Attack IVs]

-[252 Attack EVs] + [252 Sp. Attack EVs]

-Sweet Scent (Maxed PP with PP Up)

-Crunch

-Hyper Voice

-Earthquake

Don't dare use this for the Sevii Islands/Elite 4 grind as this Pokemon is not bulky and slow as is already. It would die very quickly. That being said, just like Meowth, Teddiursa is used for other very cute reasons~. It has access to Sweet Scent AND Pick Up. Use Sweet Scent to start a horde battle then quickly sweep as many as you can with Earthquake/Hyper Voice and when you cannot hit those pesky Flying types and Ghost Types, Crunch is there to take care of the leftover options. Special Choice Band is simply there to try to cover his poor Sp. Attack stat to 0HKO at least level 30~40 Pokemon as all battles should end with 1 hit to begin with. Horde battles introduce a higher chance that items will drop which works out with Pick Up. Also a handy guy to carry around to spawn horde battles in general. Due note that with Special Choice Band that you can still 1HKO Lunatones to up to Level 49 with Hyper Voice assuming they have 31 Special Defense IV's and Special Defense+ Nature if chose to do so.

235.png(Smeargle) HORDE EV Trainer + HM Slave   (Credits to Uncandango for idea and the math behind it)

(This set also listed in HM Slave spoiler)

-Equipped with Special Choice Band

-Modest/Quiet Nature (due note that speed is almost useless in PvE thus more budget for Quiet)
-[31 Sp. Attack IVs]
-[252 Sp. Attack EVs]

-Sweet Scent (maxed PP with PP Up)
-Surf
-Fly
-Hyper Voice

The idea behind this is to EV train 5 Pokemon at the same time (not required of course) but to also farm through via horde mechanic.

EXP SHARE SLAVE

Spoiler

This holds a unique spot in our team that commonly isn't talked about much simply because most players neglect the Pokedex and doesn't exactly hold any true functionality yet. Your goal here is to level this Pokemon up to the point where it can evolve into something rare and not obtainable through catching through via wild. For example, if you took the time to catch 1 single Larvitar, you can equip a EXP Share to the guy, do your standard Elite 4/Island Farming routes and as you gain EXP, they'll go straight to Larvitar through the EXP Share. Why would you bother to do this? Simply because you cannot catch Tyranitar out in the wild and it's pretty out of your way to evolve a level 14 Larvitar to a Level 55 Tyranitar just to simply release it. People are lazy but they want their Pokedex filled. What better way to take advantage of this then to take over that dumped, leftover EXP from your random kills and island grinds into actual money? Often these hard to obtain Pokemon can fetch a value as of May 02, 2016 of 25k~60k depending on the Pokemon. Here are some examples below worth doing!

Larvitar into Tyranitar
246.png-----Level 55----->248.png Fetches for HIGH value

Beldum into Metagross
374.png-----Level 45----->376.png Fetches for MODERATE value

Rhyhorn into Rhydon

Trapinch into Flygon

One other option (credits to Uncandango) is to breed a decent IV/Nature Smeargle and use the EXP Slave method to grind it up to level 4x~5x range. You can then "donate" your Smeargle to the local daycare and continue to level up another EXP Slave since the daycare Pokemon gain 30% of the EXP gained from trainer battles and 50% of the EXP gained from wild encounters. Smeargles can fetch a high price at high levels due to the high demand for them and their high usage in PvE. They can fetch over 150k or more if done right through the GTL or through via trade chat. Just note that every level gained through Daycare, it is a additional 1k Pokedollars hints why we want to put Smeargle in later then sooner.

Happiness Farm SLAVE

Spoiler

By abusing the power of friendship, you can get rich! That is one thing that the anime would of never taught you nor would the heart of the cards. Our goal here is quite similar through the same methods of the EXP Slave segment. We are here to abuse the Pokedex, a function that has no benefit of completing at the very moment. People want their Pokedex filled but are too lazy to actually do the work to obtain this very goal. This is where we farmers can take advantage of these suckers and get rich off their pocket change...for almost no effort...kinda...sorta. But hey, for almost no effort it's worth doing! We want to evolve Pokemon through happiness and since this is often a long and dreadful task, people are willing to spend big Pokedollars for these evolve forms. Sooth Bell is an essential item for this process as it doubles the happiness gained while equipped to your target. Also you want to make friends with Daisy, Gary Oak's mom in Pallet Town as she will groom one of your Pokemon for a 30% happiness gain once per day. All you have to do to increase happiness out while you're farming is to simply walk around! So essentially it's free money and it's money that is foolish to take down as Pokemon such as Togetic fetch for high values in the GLT and trade chat. Here are some examples you can farm up while you breed and catch! Often happiness evolution Pokemon can fetch for 20k~60k range depending on the Pokemon

Togepi into Togetic

Eevee into Umberon OR Espeon

EGG: Dedicated Breeding Slot

Spoiler

One entire slot dedicating to breeding your end game Pokemon. You need to have your Egg in your party in order for it to hatch and therefore you'll always have these useless rocks with you. It's a necessary evil but without eggs we'll be going back to the dark ages where a 2x31 Starmie was considered to be godly. Keep in mind that your Flame Body and Magma Armor Slaves are completely worthless without a egg in your party. There are also multiple methods in which you can make money through the breeding mechanics thus that is a topic for another day! All you need to know is that I recommend have a dedicated slot in your party at all times for hatching eggs.

Nice guide man, will be very useful even for experienced players.

Here is some that i like to run:

Whismur+Ditto Catcher with

Smeargle with Chesto Berry when High on PP, if any PP is 1 switch to Leppa or just go to PC...

False Swipe

Spore

Ingrain

Recycle

When you enconter Ditto:

Case 1:

Enters battle, Use False Swipe, Ditto Transforms, Use Spore, Use Ultra Ball.

Case 2:

Enters battle, Use False Swipe, Ditto Transforms, Ditto uses Spore, You wake up with Chesto and Spore him back, Use Recycle, Use Ultra Ball.

When you enconter Whismur, DO NOT waste Spore on them:

Use Ingrain, False Swipe, Pokeball.

Don't care if it used rest because Full HP and sleeping still have a high catch chance, Loudred you may need to False Swipe again if you want.

For HM+Horde Killing (5 free slots to EV train with exp share)

Smeargle with Choice Specs @252 spa EV

Sweet Scent (PP Maxed)

Surf

Fly

Some very unique ideas. I'll add it to the long list of things to add above. Currently right now focusing on the format of the guide to try to keep it as clean as possible as well as organized. This is definitely getting a additional to the guide.

I'm going to be learning a lot of new tactics on the way as I write this I bet

Guide is now finished for now. All other updates would be to keep the information relevant throughout the patches, extra ideas I missed and to fix formatting and grammar mistakes.

Discuss below! What else could be added to the guide! All ideas are welcomed.

I may be crazy, but I didn't think any pokes actually held silk scarves. I thought they were purely pickup.

If I'm wrong a smeargle for that would be awesome. But otherwise its meowth or a stronger pickup poke.

Reason why I did not include them because this guide is about optimizing for the best set up. Out of all three of those Pokemon they get outperformed by mentioned Pokemon. Breloom doesn't allow for long term farming and the fact it can learn HM's pretty much means it's virtually useless when Dragonite just does the role all by himself. Keep in mind that HMs can be over written by other HM's in the game thus the fact Dragonite can learn all of them wipes any other reason to put a HM on any other Pokemon.

Pickup is basically already only used on areas where Teddy or Meowth can already capitalize at useful farming locations and already 1 shot in hordes and in single battle. Not only that but they bring extra utility that Linoone cannot offer over the other two. <--- Simply not true

If Fearow can learn Pay Day (confirmed that he does) I will update the guide and do some field testing with him.  Even then he wouldn't preform as well as Persian would currently.

Real talk Linoone and Breloom really have no need for a late game set up when their brothers and sisters do their job better. Let them stick where they belong which is PvP.

TL;DR

Linoone = Peasant Strats lel topkek
Breloom = Peasant Strats lel topkek

the scent of unawareness is strong in this thread

Bring it to the board here then. This is what the discussion down here is all about. If you can bring a strong argument on why Linoone and Breloom are actually good then mention it here and I will add it in. But as of my stance I don't see the point of either or when there are just simply better options.

Thus even if I add Fearrow to the guide if it's true then all I really see him is a slightly less bulky Persian. Persian already 1 shots the entire game just fine as of now with a much more safer typing. He doesn't bring extra utility, added weakness (Ice and Rock) for simply 20 more BASE Attack Power. The major concern Pokemon are Lance's Ice Beams, Cloyster's Ice Beams from Lorei and on the off chance Blue's Tryanitar flat out walling you and wrecking you with Rock Slide, a weakness Persian doesn't have to deal with at all.

I may be crazy, but I didn't think any pokes actually held silk scarves. I thought they were purely pickup.

If I'm wrong a smeargle for that would be awesome. But otherwise its meowth or a stronger pickup poke.

Yeah, I was remembering wrong and was thinking Haunter dropped them. I'll correct that right now as Meowth is the better farmer for Silk Scarfs at this current moment.

I like running Meowth with payday, shadow ball, and water pulse as a pickup farmer.

Yeah, Return isn't really necessary come to think about it. Odor Sleuth is completely optional too.

Why not have a smeargle whit sweet cent/surf/fly as ev trainer in 3rd slot

EDIT: I misread you Netsky4life. Yeah I've mentioned it on the 2nd Slot. Some of these catagories are mix and match so it makes it more hard to organize. Maybe I can find a better method to organize the thread sometime.

It's in there. Smeargle isn't the best Pokemon for the job sadly since realistically Dragonite takes care of all HM's+Grinding. Keep in mind that HM's can be overridden now with other HM's at any time now so any need for any other HM Slaves besides Dragonite isn't optimal at the moment and is a waste of a slot. Teddiursa is the best Sweet Scenter in the game due to Pick Up, Earthquake and Hyper Voice. He has everything you ever want in one. He simply does the job better then Smeargle, even if Milk Drink gets fully implemented since your poacher should have the move.

On the off note apart from Netsky, it seems like I should add a honorable mention section to explain why Pokemon like Smeargle, Breloom, Ferrow, etc. aren't the best Pokemon for the job and why I neglected to mention them. I'll give you a quick version of what is to come

"TL;DR, They simply ain't good"

Teddiursa?

I think it has some restrictions...

Can you EV train 5 pokemons at same time? (most of the time you need surf/fly)

If you want to kill gastly/haunter horde, how do you do it?

Hyper Voice at level 100 can kill Solrocks/Lunatoone?

For pickup (peasants) i tried with Linoone because it can learn Trick too.

I was testing at route 10 and when i meet a magnemite i used trick, and if i find an item then I throw some balls.

If it is not the poke i want i just kill it. If horde is met, I use surf.

There will never be a perfect pokemon and moveset for everyone.

I do a LOT of EV/EXP training, so Smeargle fits perfectly for me.

I don't do pickup/payday.

And when i do thief, you need specific pokemons anyway (quagsires/poli)

-I don't really know too many people who train 5 Pokemon at the same time but for those who do, the Smeargle is a listed option. Teddy can learn EQ and Hyper Voice too for horde battling as well. Crunch is a option (not amazing) but gets the job done. His 2 limitations are lack of Surf/Fly for those who DO train at the same time (a niche but good thing) but his "not as effectiveness" in Pokemon Tower. Though to keep in mind he CAN EQ Ghost in Hoenn (though that's only better for catching, not killing due to Smeargle). So I can agree to that. Hyper Voice+Specs can kill a level 50 Lunatone with Special Defense = Nature at 31 IV's. If it DOES survive (which is extremely rare due to damage range and needing 31 IV's) you should probably be catching that Lunatone anyways. But all the Lunatones are around the level 15~40 range anyhow. Now Linoone does add to the mix due to Surf...

-I'll add Linoone to the list for valid reasoning. I would love to see more comments like this below as well so it could be added to the guide. Valid argument and usefulness which is great! Hes a combination of Pick Up+5 Poke EV Training. Though sadly he can't learn Sweet Scent.

-Realistically you do need a whole box dedicate for PvE teams at this point due to 1: Egg Slave (i.e. Flame Body), 2: Synchronize (need one for all but 2 natures; who uses Lax/Gentle..,?), at least 2 Smeargles, 1 Dragonite, list goes on. Easily say at least 25~30 slots but the idea is we want to minimize, slots needed and how to use the slots properly like not wasting it on shiny Pokemon followers *ducks head*, etc. So far I'm happy with the success of the guide due to how many PM's I get a day in-game about it. A lot of newer players are starting to get better grips into the game's ecom and farming system and have a easier time overall which I'm happy with. But overall, while it is personal preference, it's best to choose what best for the role and stick with it. Thus, it gives you a good footnote on how to do it and takes away emotional attachment from it. And yes, it is personal preference on what you need (me personally I don't bother with Quagsire since I just use pick up to farm Everstones while training Smeargles for EV Attacks using Meowth) but it doesn't mean that one thing you need cannot be optimize. In all reality it shows all the useful optional sets people have been using to get strong and rich quick for those who are new to the game.

What is next to update on the guide is...
1: Synchro Ability Farming
2: Flame Body/Magmar Armor Slave
3: Linoone
4: Updating Meowth and organizing the guide a bit more to make it a bit more easier to find things.

I will share my activities and list what i do and you can get some ideas from it.

I personally like to do Mt. Moon's Paras for EV training+Payday+Pick Up. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone but also I generally seem to get pretty lucky doing at least 5~6 Everstone a hour with a side of Hardstones and Mushrooms.

Well i am one of those guys who does that, i breed for exemple 10 comps in a row and try to continue breeding till i have 5 pokemon who need hp ev for exemple, its more time efficient in the long run.
Whit that in mind i only see the smeargle option:

surf (for exemple when tentacruel training) + fly + sweet scent for obvious reasons.
Believe its the only pokemon who can learn all of those  3 moves.

About the quagsire thing: i don't use it either because of the 5 lvl difference, instead i poach them whit smeargle, keeping the loot + 31's and selling the crap.
Saves a pokemon who is forced to not lvl anyway!

I'll rephrase the guide a bit to benefit the needs better.

I'm glad people catch the Geodudes because Snorunt is a wonderful Pokemon to take advantage of the market through via Geodude catching since hes a Mineral/Fairy Pokemon. I've been using all those Geodudes as breeding fodder for Fairy materials =)

Just for that alone I wonder if there is a way to change the Everstone farming through catching the Geodudes effectively even faster with Quag/Poli/Smeargle then having to worry about them exploding but without having to use a extra turn on Spore.

That's the thing i don't use spore on the geodudes (there lvl is to low).
Every time i do a vs seeker run (almost daily) i rocksmash all rocks on isl 1 a bunch of times (can heal and reset rocks in cave) you get low lvl geodudes most of the time:  1 false swipe + pokeball = Almost guaranteed catch, i dont have to use spore on them its a wasted turn.

tfw not a single linoone, fearow or breloom

what kind of shenanigans is this guide about

I added a section and their usefulness for Linoone and Fearow. However there still isn't a section for Breloom simply because hes not useful until prove he is. You might be shocked how much in-depth discussion I added about Fearow since he was a complicated bird to talk about and the comparisons. TL;DR Fearow is the Rich Trainer's Sevii Runner and Persian is the "Realistic" or "Pleibe" Sevii Runner.

As mention Linoone and Fearow was added to the guide as I found very great use of both Pokemon. Both are viable now.

This was fixed with the format of the guide so he'll be included in both HM Slaves and Wildcard sections. The guide has been 100% updated. I had no choice but to list him twice though but it looks neat and tidy. Previously he was only listed in HM Slaves.

____________________________

Onto the meat now, the guide has been fully revised, rewritten and now has plenty of new information and Pokemon listed for many more jobs. The guide is yet to be completed 100% still as Synchro Farming and Flame Body/Magma Armor still needs to be listed. But as of now the guide is fresh again with better formatting and information!

List of updates...

1) Added Fearow
2) Added Linoone
3) Separated Dragon Breath Smeargle/False Swipe Smeargle and gave a very in-depth discussion on why and how to farm at Mt. Pyre

4) Reword the guide to be a lot less bias and more flexiable
5) Rewritten Pick Up Meowth and Pick Up Teddy all together

6) Reformatted the guide to make IV and EV spreads easier to read
7) Added EV Trainer Smeargle to "Wildcard" section and kept him in "HM Slave" as similarly written segments and mentioned why.

8) Fixed some grammar errors and format errors

Enjoy the update guys! Please list more ideas below and if you feel any Pokemon was missed or was ignored, provide a convincing argument below!
