It's been a while since the last music battle and we feel that it is time to give our musically talented members a chance to shineWe would like you to create and submit an original piece of music that can be used as a theme for a legendary Pokemon of your choice. Your entry must be uploaded to Youtube and the link posted in this thread. Judges will really be looking at how suitable the composition is for the Legendary it has been made for. We recommend doing some research into the background and lore surrounded your selected legendary to ensure that your entry is as befitting as it can be.

Competition opens: Monday 4th April 1am BST - Time Conversions here.

Competition closes: Sunday 24th April 11:59pm BST - Time Conversions here.

 

Rules:

  • All submissions must be original work, no remixes or covers are allowed.
  • You may use pre-recorded sounds, samples, VSTi, etc to create your entry.
  • You may not exceed 1 minute 30 seconds in length. 
  • One entry per user, if you wish to edit your entry then go back and edit your submission post. 
  • All submissions must be made via Youtube or Soundcloud uploads. No other format will be accepted.
  • You must submit an entry for one of the legendaries listed above, Mega Evolution forms of a particular legendary do not count. 
  • You entry may have lyrics if you wish, but this is not a necessity. Any lyrics used must adhere to our Code of Conduct
  • Entries submitted before or after the competition opens or closes will not count. 
  • Please include your in game name and the Legendary your entry is for in your submission post. 

 

Prizes:

1st - 1000 Reward Points & 1,000,000 Pokeyen

2nd - 500 Reward Points & 500,000 Pokeyen

If you meant 'cover', 'remix', any synonym of that, then the part you bolded pretty much answers your question.

It's no.

 

If you meant 'something I wrote six months ago but never showed to anyone', well... Ask Noad.

That is referring to built in samples within composition software not taking a song and cutting out parts you want to use.

"Clubbed to Death" was made this way and it was an original song by the time it came out...

Samples should be ok aslong as the product one is delivering doesn't sound like a mix of samples from known songs but a real song who can stand on his own.
