In-depth Money Making Guide - Multiple Methods

Recommended Posts

Amazing guide. Simply AMAZING!

I have some questions, With amulet coin, I have it on Persian with Payday. Does the Amulet coin work without using pay day? How to you know it works? It doesn't say "you got XX coins from Amulet Coin"

Does it "activate" only if the first pokemon in party has it or in battle too?

Thanks.

Amulet Coin gives you more cash only when fighting against NPC trainers. So it doesn't give you extra cash when Paydaying. There is no notice to show you its working. I think as long as the Pokemon that you use to beat the trainer has Amulet coin, you will get extra cash. If not that, it could also be that if your party leader has an Amulet Coin you will receive the extra money.

So it's bad to use pay day with Persian having the amulet coin on him?

Excellent guide too! I'll defiantly use the Island run.

Thanks for the guide, really appreciate. How do all those activities translate to profit/hour?

How long does an island run take, everstone farming, etc...

I've got data on a few alt runs ive done, would be interesting to compare with other money making methods.

Here are my last 4 kanto alt runs:

Kanto Alt Run TIME            KANTO PROFIT           KANTO PROFIT /hour
8.88                                     1360000                       153153
5.53                                     1481874                       260200
6.13                                     1428447                       232899
5.15                                     1394810                       271100

id say a really relaxed alt run takes about 6 hours (including putting stuff up on GTL) and profits about 1.4mil.
So thats 233k/hour average. Prices do depend alot on GTL pricing. My record run so far is 5.15 hours and 1.39 mil. I doubt i can improve that by much.

My question is are we better off island farming, item farming, paydaying, ditto farming, alt running, etc... or do they all average out to the similar profit/hour, in which case, players can just do w/e and know they aren't wasting their time if the goal is making money.

That's a good question. I feel the best method to make cash is probably Island runs, Everstones or Dittos.

Everstones and Dittos can vary though.

I'm going to do a few 1 hour runs of these methods and calculate the profit tonight. I'l let you know ^^

edit:

I used my last reserve for profits per hour. I'l see if we can work out the best.

So I did an island run, using the efficient method.

I earned $98,070 in 40 minutes to be exact.

=$147,102 per hour

Surprisingly, Kanto alt run is much more profitable.

Hey, I was doing Island Runs and decided to register the profits.

In Five Island, I noticed that Youngster Destin's reward is different.

Also, there is a Swimmer in Resort Gorgeous available to battle:

Oops, I did the first battle with that guy, then I had to rematch to check the price, but I forgot to update it. Thanks.

That swimmer, can you VS Seeker him? Eitherway, the pay rate looks so poor it's not worth including. Thanks anyway.

I used the Pay Day method and gathered the data.

Location: Artisan Cave

Encounters/hour: 129

Profit/hour: $56.180

:( Well, at least I got 129 Speed EV points...

Oh sweet, that was in 1 hour right?

Pretty bad cash lol

I'd do another check with those everstones.

My average for a single everstone was 5 minutes for examples.

Also Dragonite and gengar , to my experience, were the best pokes one could use.

Starmies moves have tremendously long animations (special moves have longer animations in general), so i wouldn't bother using that.

My movesets were:

Persian: Water pulse (1hkos most steelix with bashful nature), return, slash, payday.

Gengar: Shadowball (1hkos most steelix with timid nature), sludge bomb, thunderbolt, pain split.

Dragonite: Surf, dragon claw, flamethrower, strength.

I suggest Brave for persian/dragonite and Modest for gengar.

and ofc using 2 computers at the same time is a must if one has the ways

I did say my Everstone count was not very convincing, pretty sure I was very unlucky. I will do another 1 hour run eventually.

I'v never had any problems with Starmie, and it's the Pokemon I'd use to alt run, so I have plenty of them. No point leveling up a new sweeper when I already have one xd

how do you keep your qagsire at lvl 30?, he wins exp everytime geodge selfdestructs.

Make sure your Quagsire has Damp ability, that stops Geodudes and Gravelers from being able to selfdestruct.

You can purchase an ability pill at the daycare place for for about 30k which will change your ability, unless you want to just go catch another one with damp ability.
