Kailido Posted January 26, 2016 Share Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Disclaimer:
I know a lot of people take advantage of newbs not knowing where things are, so they buy that kind of stuff and they up its price on GTL. I understand that some people might buy them because they don't want to go to the specific place, but there's others that get ripped off without even realizing so. So this guide is for them. I also know that there's lots of people that use this as some kind of shady business, and they might hate me for this. But it's only fair for this information to be out there. I'm sorry if there's already a guide like this, but if there is i can't find it.
Hey there buddy!! Did you just buy a Hood in GTL for 80.000$ just because it looks cool? Or did you buy 50 luxury balls for 2.000$ each because you think they are rare? Or maybe you bought an Earthquake TM for 35.000$ because you can't find them anywhere else!! Well, if you did buy that, this Guide is for you!! Every day, hundreds of newbs get ripped off on GTL over items that they can easily find in PokeMarts, but they don't know that each PokeMart has its own selection of items. So they think those items can't be bought, or can only be obtained in special events. Hi! I'm the guy that's going to save your wallet off of those mean corporate bullies, and you should trust me!! KNOW YOUR ITEM!! A guide to Item's price and location Objectives of this guide Reduce the amount of newbs making the wrong purchases, and that will... Reduce the amount of overpriced items in GTL, and it will also... Reduce the amount of people placing pointless items just because people buy them Vanity Items With the new update, these items are scatered throughout various PokeMarts. There's items that you can only buy in one Region
KantoViridian Classic Cap - 300$ Backpack - 300$ Nurse Hat - 2.000$ Chuncky beret - 2.500$Pewter Camping Cap - 3.000$ Boater & Sunglasses - 6.000$ (Only Kanto) Boater - 6.000$ (Only Kanto) Explorer's Hat - 7.500$Cerulean Swimming Cap - 4.000$ Vest - 4.000$ Shorts - 4.000$ Cap & Sunglasses - 8.000$ Derby - 9.000$ (Only Kanto)Vermilion Headband - 15.000$ Straw Hat - 20.000$ Flat Cap - 20.000$ Bow - 25.000$Lavender Beret - 10.000$ Pointed Hat - 12.500$ Teddy Ears - 15.000$ Tricorne - 15.000$Celadon Dept. Kailido Posted January 26, 2016 Author Share Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) Game Corner Coins -> PokeCash Extra conversion guide Average price of game corner items
If you want to understand these prices/values, continue reading this post Hidden Power - ~14.396$ Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt - ~23.995$ Tuxedo - ~27.594$ Rocket Uniform - Whatever 9999 coins costs, a bit less than 70.000$ i think Yellow Flute - ~9.297$
I didn't want to make this part of the guide because this involves a trick that is not know by everyone, and i might make some people mad by ruining one of their ways to make cash, but i might aswell just put this here. When people buy coins they often buy 9999 coins right away. This is a mistake, unless you want to buy an item that actually costs 9999 coins. Why is it a mistake? - Ok, if you can, go to the game corner, make sure you have very few coins, like 100 or less and check the price for 500 coins. You'll see that it is 1000$ right? - Now, how many times would you have to buy 500 coins to get 9999 coins? 20 times. - Now multiply 1000$ for 20 (don't get conclusions just yet). You - "What? 40000$??" Actually no, that would be true if the prices of the coins didn't increase each time you buy a 500 coins pack or lower You - "But does this mean that i should never buy the 9999 coins because it's more expensive?" Also no. If you buy packs of coins until you get 9999 coins you will pay the same amount you would pay if you bought them right away This means that each time you buy 2 500 coin pack, the price of each pack will increase. Let's say you want to buy Hidden Power, 4000 coins, how much is that is cash? FYI, i had 99 coins before doing this. So first pack of 500 coins was 1000$ 2nd 1099$ 3rd 1500$ 4th 1599$ 5th 2000$ 6th 2099$ 7th 2500$ and finally 8th 2599$ This is a total of 14.396$. For 4000 coins This is the average value of Hidden Power TM, but since we're at it i've changed my mind and now i want a Tuxedo, 6000 coins, so lets get 4 more packs of 500 coins 9th 3000$ 10th 3099$ 11th 3500$ 12th 3599$ This is a total of 27.594$. For 6000 coins This is the average price of a Tuxedo. Have you been buying them for 50.000$? Well too bad... Now you know. Just so you can see the advantages of buying packs of 500 coins, think about this: The price of 9999 coins is a bit less than 70.000$. Let's split this in half now. You can easily calculate that it is a bit less than 35000 for 5000 coins. Now take the previous example. We bought 6000 coins for 27.594$. I think it's safe to say: Point proven! Kailido Posted January 26, 2016 Author Share Posted January 26, 2016 i know ppl with many hours of playtime that still get ripped off because they had no idea that they could buy that item somewhere else for a fair price, they either forget or never had interest in that item before ragstal 1 Link to comment
OldKeith Posted January 27, 2016 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Would be lovely if you format the prices a bit better (example instead of 30000 you can write 30,000 or 30.000 or 30k) just to mak them more readable. Also it would be nice to have coin priced items offer a cash alternative as well. YettoDie, Kailido, GBush and 2 others 5 Link to comment

Bobgod Posted January 27, 2016 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Actually the pricing on coins is exactly like this: 1k for the 1st and 2nd 500 coins 1.5k for 3rd/4th 2k for 5th/6th 2.5k for 7th/8th 3k for 9th/10th 3.5k for 11th/12th 4k for 13th/14th 4.5k for 15th/16th 5k for 17th/18th 5.5k for the 19th and 5,499 for the remaining 499coins The only reason you paid more is because you didn't start at 0. Kailido Posted January 27, 2016 Author Share Posted January 27, 2016 i know about that but ty, not everyone starts from 0 coins, that's why the 99 coins that i had were convinient, it's just average price, not the cheapest you can get. Link to comment

Actually I disagree here. If you don't have 0 coins, make sure you do before you start buying for tms. Nobody wants to inflate their own prices. So better correct those prices. As for the rest of the guide, really helpful. Bobgod 1 Link to comment
