Pickup Rate

Okay so, I've been hunting for Silk Scarfs both yesterday & today as I need to get substitute for a few of my pokemon to finish the movesets. I've been to Lost Cave to try to get some using the Pickup ability (as it says this is the only spot to get them in the pickup guide) - not sure if my luck is just horribad or if the spawn rate for the pickup items is stupidly low. Anyways, I've spent at least 3 hours between both days hunting for these, not to find one of them. Surely this cant be right or there's some kind of fault in the game causing this as it seems extremely unusual for it to be THIS bad. Anyone else having any similar issues or just me?

i spent 2 days in lost cave too no silk scarf + realy hard to pick any item in lost cave

another place for slik scarf is island 3 on the bridge same thing no silk scarf

Level 100 linoone with slash/surf.  Doesn't need a good nature(maybe not -attack), oneshots pretty much everything even not ev'ed.  No thieving done.

I wish :( still no Stick. Although it is a bit more time consuming for me as my Meowth is at a low level at the moment so I should level it. Does everyone use a Meowth?

Return, I knew I was forgetting a move, question is is it worth buying the TM when slash works.(or strength if it can learn that)
