Definition of an MMO

[spoiler] An MMO, or massively multiplayer online game, is a game that thousands of participants can play simultaneously over the internet. Some MMO games offer voice chat, in which players can wear a headset and talk to other unseen players online.

Some people mistake Action Role-Playing Games (such as Diablo or Torchlight), and on rare occasions Real Time Strategy as MMO's because they are online. These are not MMO's.

Far from my first. I have played so many, going back to MUDs, all the way up to the modern MMO.

EvE, DDO, WoW, Everquest, Ultima Online, the list of big ones go on.

I was also a story writer and scripter for a modded version of Fallout 1 and 2 MMO called Fonline 2238, which has since splintered into several different servers and game types.

What really draws me to PokeMMO are the mechanics of Pokemon in an MMO setting, pretty much as simple as that. PokeMMO is the best there is for exactly that.

I've played a bunch of MMOs before this one: Runescape, WoW, Tera, and probably a bunch of irrelevant ones I can't remember.

As much as I like to shit on this game for its obvious flaws, I can say that this is the first MMO that has real stood out to me in a matter of social aspects. In all the other MMOs I played, friends were few and far between, and they never lasted long. With WoW, the monthly subscription makes it a lot harder to have friends around for a long time. Runescape I feel like the chat was just too ass and guilds were ass too, not to mention the large amount of little kids, so it was hard to make actual friends. Tera I just didn't play much so I dunno, but yeah. Something about PokeMMO has made it really easy to make friends who stick around. This is the first MMO I've played where I keep in touch with the people I've met outside of the game and play other games with them. There are people on here I've been talking to for almost 3 years now.

I dunno if it's the shitty graphics, the simple chat tabs, or the fact that names like XxX420QuickScOpesxXx aren't allowed, but something has made this game an easy place to interact with the other players.

It's my first and only MMO. I'm truly not a gamer, but the chance to keep up with my boys JSTUD and KingBowser, make a whirlwind of new friends, and help others reach success is what's made this game so great.

So I guess it's just the community development.

I told you to play WoW on private, i've played with some people for over 5 years, some of them I regularly visit and shit, even though i've stopped playing ages ago. Since it has more content than pokemmo, people tend to stick around more and not come back/go rip on a monthly basis winkwink

This is not my first MMO, but its probably the first one I really enjoyed. The game used to be great, communtiy used to be great. Ive made really great friends with whom I talk and play other games regularly. Past updates didnt bring a lot of new stuff to the table, but they were enjoyable. In Sevii Islands update, my team and I spend like a week catching all new Pokemon. Alt cave update was like the best thing ever. Trying to figure out how it works, what Pokemon were in, how cycles work, that was my best experiance in game. Then breeding came out. It was really fun. After that the game reached its downfall. About 90% of my team left, the game wasnt different, but it felt repetitive and boring. We tryed out the game when Hoenn got out, but it felt like that was not the same game anymore. I dont really know what this game can bring out for me to return to it.

I played Runescape for about 5 years, I remember I had a Veteran cape but it might have been longer, I can't remember. I played WoW for a solid 2 years. Now I'm playing PokeMMO.

A big game for me atm, although not an MMO is LoL. Played it for about 2 years, I squeeze a game in here and there these days.
