I've decided to release a beta of the patch once I get all of the maps done. Then I'll take care of the rest in future versions.

I have a question for you.

I have absolutely no idea how all of this works, but do you think it would be possible in any way to use music from Pokemon Stadium using some fancy hacking magic?

That would have nothing to do with it. It will still be trying to run the Fire Red rom through java, the arrangement of the pixels won't have any impact on the performance of your PC in this case.
