My favourite Shiny (apart from Porygon), what a rare crown juwel!

It is likely a gift Shiny from the story as not many do rocksmash and catch the geodude

I might be wrong but I believe all gift pokemon are shiny locked ie. Can't be shiny

This is correct. It was either revived from a fossil obtained through Rock Smash or hatched from an egg.

 

(Event prizes are the obvious exception to the gift rule, but Kabuto/Kabutops has never been given out.)

From what I can tell, we have never given out Shiny Kabuto or Kabutops as a prize. I'm not seeing any old threads in the archive with either as a prize.
