Kanto

This is a noob question that has probably been asked many times but if I'm in Hoenn and I take the ship to Kanto, will I be stuck there and not able to return?

 

 

 

Also, how does the whole Payday with Persian thing work?

You can go back to hoenn once you get to vermilion in kanto. Pay day is based off the enemy pokemon's level, not your own level. Also pay day can only be used once for the pay effect in an NPC battle.

Payday gives you an amount of money that is equal to 10x the opponent's level.

It works only once per battle, even if it's an NPC battle with six pokemon.

Well thanks for the Payday answer, guys! However, I'm still confused with the Kanto issue.

 

Would I go to Kanto and start off in the first city and have to travel all the way to Vermillion to get to Hoenn again? OR will I just go to Slateport and end up already in Vermillion, thus making me able to go back to Hoenn from ship?

If it's your first time traveling to Kanto, you will spawn in Pallet town. You will need to play through the story until you reach Vermilion to be able to take the boat back to the Hoenn region. If you have already traveled there, you will simply spawn in Vermilion city.
