Ok so check this out. About 6 or 7 days ago, I logged into showdown on Gunthug (no alerts or anything) and I was locked from talking in chat. Figured it had something to do with my IP or something, so just ignored it and played anyway.

 

Fast forward to day 2 or 3 of the lock, and I'm starting to think I've been disciplined for some reason. Maybe I raged at someone who was an undercover Mod or something? I dk, I'm usually not too bad about raging at people when I lose (pfft, when do I even lose? (most of the time in ORAS)). So anyway, I'm thinking meh, it'll wear off in a couple days no problem.

 

Fast forward to 2 days ago, I'm still locked from chatting. Pissed. I message a Moderator on the help channel, ask him why I'm banned. He says "You're permabanned - you must have done something really ban. Even linking to porn or gore sites usualy only comes with a week ban." He then starts ignoring me and logs off - thanks Crestfall for all your help, bud.

 

I'm like jesus christ, what the hell did I do? I log a ban appeal on smogon's forums. Where you're supposed to fill out "Name of moderator who banned you," I had to put "don't know." Likewise for "reason for ban." Basically I said, what the fuck is going on? 2 days go by, no response. Then, finally:

 

 

 

AHHHHHHH, that explains it. It's all the erotic fucking roleplaying I've been doing on that alt that is totally mine. Er, no. How the fuck did I get caught up in this?

 

After many attempts at nagging him, I finally got a higher-up to respond to me and explain it. Here's the fantastic explanation I got

 

 

So I may have registered one of my alts (ShingaToroim) on a public IP which may possibly have been shared at one point with the alt of a guy who got busted for erotic roleplaying. You're probably thinking, wow what a crazy story, glad that's all over with, right? Nope. Here I am, still permalocked from chatting, with 0 responses from staff members. Guess I'm just labeled an erotic roleplayer by association now thanks to the lazy ass mods on showdown.

 

UPDATE - I pm'd a global owner, Vacate, who looked into it and finally unlocked me. I'm a free man, but at what cost? Has the damage already been done? Will I ever escape the horrid things known diddler hypershaymin cast upon my reputation??

@Gunthug I once got temporarily locked from talking in chat because when one of the mods was duelling Raaidn and was losing pretty badly, I told him to press the X button on top right corner. I'm like how is that even worthy of punishment. Finally I had to wait for a server restart for that lock to be removed. Sad I forgot that guy's name.
