When I interacted with him, I saw I can give my Pokemon to him and then receive the egg, never seing my Pokémon back.. - I got a female Eevee. If I breed it, there is a large chance it will have worse IV and I will get an Male Eevee, so I can never breed it again.. - Why? All the fun for me is gone now. - How is it supposed to work now? Noad Posted May 21, 2015 Share Posted May 21, 2015 You can choose the gender of your offspring when the Old Man gives you an egg, so you can get a female or male any time you wish. You can use various items in game that manipulate the IVs/Nature of the offspring at a 100% success rate. You can find out more about the breeding process in this guide. If you were wondering why the breeding mechanics have been changed from the handheld games, it is because it has been adapted to suit an MMO environment.
