Thou Shalt Becometh Swoll...

Recommended Posts

So was this Slackers Saturday or something? I swear half of the guys I saw lifting today did quarter or half reps. One guy was squatting and was going like till 120 degrees and then back up. What's the point of doing 265lbs on squats if you can't even do them properly. Guess it looks tough.

QUIT JUDGING.

Today I didn't go to the gym but I got a lot of walking done so that feels nice :) Trying to make the most of the summer weather <3

My new gym is pretty glorious, but it's forcing me to be like Emlee. 4.5 mile round trip between there and my apartment. I ran the way there, but I was way too exhausted on my way back.

Goal time: Don't bring a gym bag and run both ways.

but did chest+tri like a true chestbrah doh, it is Monday after all[

same.

usually have a gymbro with me but i was flying solo today. was feeling strong so i put 290 (131.5 KG) on bench on the 4th set. didn't get a spot and almost got stuck

the sheer willpower of not wanting to embarrass myself in front of gym qts helped me get through it. lesson: always get a spot no matter how confident you are

that's real unfortunate. luckily most of my friends are pretty motivated so it keeps me on my toes

Idk why you nikkas need all these motivational videos and quotes, having to pay gym membership and a fukload of money for food is more than enough motivation for me lmao

I just need my one true love to motivate me....

because waking up at 5AM to go to the gym requires much more motivation than money can provide

Did a 2-3 mile hike this morning with a 10 pound weight in my pack, plus some extra fluff to keep the pack from sagging and causing back issues. Then went and dug up some trees and railroad ties. Feels good.

pain isnt a thing if you get good enough at meditating. you can turn off your ability to feel pain completely. sadly this also turns off hunger but w/e....

Despite how extreme this sounds there are studies behind the idea of meditation and pain control. The power of the mind is incredible and one only has to look at the fact that the compounds by which we develop our psychotropics are already established neurotransmitters in the brain. Serotonin, dopamine, the things that make us feel and love, they're already within us and the goal is simply to channel our mind and brain into creating these drugs naturally. Relaxing and finding peace, well that is evidence of these drugs being released. But the question is, how powerful can our natural selves be in preventing or decreasing pain? Is there a possibility that the neccesity of narcotics will cease to exist?

No.

when people are in shock, they sometimes dont feel pain. when you sleep you dont feel pain. often when people are dying towards the end they stop feeling pain before they die. pains all in your head and meditation is just taking control of your body.

The solution isn't found in whether it works but in the strength of the presenting individual. We inherently lack the power to repress our own pain once the "shock" settles as we are weak to acute trauma. Now speaking on behalf of chronic pain I see promise in this.

Trust me, you don't feel much of anything when you are sleeping. Once the body has entered deep sleep stages it takes a pretty strong shock to wake someone up. The body has shut down most of the nervous system in order to prevent you from acting out your dreams, this includes pain receptors.

Seriously, the entire process of sleep is really fascinating (dreams even more-so :P)
