Would be really cool if the five or ten highest reserves that DONT make it into this bracket got some sort of priority queue for the next qualifier. Thought I'd suggest this here since it got no attention in the event feedback thread

If you do this then you should probably disqualify previous winners from registering for future qualifiers then for the sake of fairness

That will screw 5 or 10 people who would be reserves but are lower down the reserve list during the next sign ups... Nobody cares about them.

TLDR: you can't just do it for 5 people who miss out, if you use this option it needs to be extended to every reserve because sign ups are pure luck... And that is not feasible

This reminds me of the college football playoffs argument - right now the top 4 teams make the "playoffs", which means 5 and 6 get snubbed. But if jt was extended to 8, 9 and 10 would get snubbed. Guess what? Tough luck. The alternative is no playoffs.

I'd rather 5-10 people got this opportunity than the same broken system we have now. it's the lesser of two evils, and it's certainly more feasible than 64 man tourneys. For those who are just outside the "cutoff" - they'll still have an opportunity to sign up normally.

Also Jj I agree with your point about previous winners

Edit: Doc I may have misinterpreted what you said, I'll fix my post when j get home

Yeah, what I thought you meant was that while the first 5-10 reserves would get the instant queue for the next one, the 5 after that would get snubbed. It seems like you meant that, once 5-10 spots were filled for the next tourney, that means 5-10 people WONT get into the tourney that would have w/o the previous reserve queues.

I think my argument still applies, though - there will always have to be a line drawn, but at least this method guaruntees a fresh pool of at least 5-10 players that WERENT in the last tourney, but are in the next one. It's the turnover of players, and the inclusiveness, that I'm aiming for. Plus, those people you're referring to would then get the same "reserve queue" status for the next tourney, which is better than not getting in at all
