[Denied] Overworld Rain Not Affecting Battles

As we all know, overworld weather effects like rain, fog in caves, etc were implemented some months ago.

 

However, they have proven to be less exciting and rather irritating lately because they make an effect on the battles. Whenever it rains overworld, it's effect is also seen in the Wild/NPC battles we have in that region.

 

We all have experienced the long lags when it Rains. It not only wastes a significant amount of extra time due to the animation followed by the message 'Rain Continues To Fall', but also provides an unfair advantage to water moves/swift swim Pokemon by not having to waste a turn using Rain Dance.

 

I feel rather irritated lately, to be wasting 5 seconds in every battle due to the Rain animation and message.

 

I think Overworld Weather Effects should just stay Overworld and not effect the battles in any way.

 

Pros :

  • Save time.

We have tested the performance of the client when rain is active and it causes very little lag, even on very low-end hardware.

 

The point of the overworld effect is to affect NPC and Wild battles;There are Wild Pokemon/NPC Trainers in these areas that take advantage of it.

 

We won't be changing this.
