iv determination?

i know very less about the breeding system. we make use of those items given in island 4 in kanto to bring out the dominating iv stat. what I intend to ask is how should one plan for 3x31 iv . for e.g. my dragonite has 2x31 n my sceptile 1x31 how should i make the child have 3x31?

If you want to guarantee a 3x31 what you need to do is, have 2 2x31's with 1 of the 31's being in the same stat, such as.

Attack  Defense Mother

Defense Speed  Father

 

Then you brace the attack on the mother, and the speed on the father, the defense will average out regardless of if it passes or not and you will result in a 31 no matter what.  So you would end up with a 31 attack, defense, and speed child.

U can also gamble iv :D U can pass maximum 2 iv by braces and 1 random iv without brace, and the other ev is average of mothers and father.

 

31 x  ->passed via brace

y   31->passed via brace

31 x  ->gambled 

31 31->average = 31

y   x  ->average =(x+y)/2

y   x  ->average =(x+y)/2

 

as u see best result can be 31/31/31/31/Z/Z, but u got like 12,5% chance for that result in that kind of sytuation :)

u mean to say that after bracing the 2 respective ivs one can be gambled and the remaining others will be the average O_o woahhh! i was unaware of the gambling part. 12.5% becomes rare them. will try it. thanls a lot :)
