• Alternatively, you can sign up alone and be placed into reserves. You'll be fitted into a team lacking a member, or a team made up of four reserves.
  • Post the participants in a specific order, specifying who is player 1, player 2, player 3, player 4.
  • Only one signup per forum account is allowed.
  • Test posting will result in being barred from competition.
  • Please only sign up players who have asked you to in order to prevent any confusion the day of the tournament.
  • Registration is based on Forum Time. Registration will be first come, first serve.
  • You're free to edit your post until rollcall at the time of the event.

Explanation of the event:

  • Every round, one team will be facing off another team. All matches are independant, the goal is simply to beat the opposing team rather than all of them.
  • There will be four trials, and each member of the team is to participate in one of them.
  • The first three trials will revolve around catching a specific pokemon in the Safari zone, with certain restrictions. The fourth trial will be a Pokemon Battle.
  • Once one member has returned, submitted their catch, and the new target was revealed in shout chat, the next one may leave. The trials are to be cleared consecutively as fast as possible like an actual relay.
  • Upon submission of a catch, that player will receive a consumable item. This item is to be traded to their battler, to help him in battle. The first member of the two teams to complete one given trial will receive the better item. So the faster you hunt, the more of an advantage you'll get in the final battle!
  • Once one team has cleared all of their trials, the opposing team has 10 minutes left to clear their own trials. If they fail to catch all required pokemon within this timeframe, they'll have to forfeit their consumables and move on to the battle.
  • The lineups will automatically rotate, so one given player can only battle once.
  • Round 1's order is: P1, P2, P3, P4, with P4 being the battler. Round 2: P2, P3, P4, P1. Round 3: P3, P4, P1, P2.
  • Note that the player you sign up as P3 is the one who never battles.

Here's an example of how the bracket will look:

Safari rules:

  • Any attempts to cheat such as submitting an invalid catch will result in disqualification.
  • If your Pokemon has any EV's or exp it is disqualified.
  • The Pokemon must be your OT, and caught after the previous member's catch was submitted.
  • To submit your catch, you must trade request the staff member who is reffing your matchup. You'll receive the consumable in exchange for the caught pokemon.

Battle rules:

  • Standard 4v4 OU format
  • Clauses: Evasion/Sleep/OHKO/Unique Species/Self KO/OP Item/Pristine/Time/Unique item/Baton Pass (one per team)
List of Clauses and what they mean
  • Banned moves: Rain Dance, Torment
  • Banned Pokemon: Tyranitar, Dugtrio, Wobbuffet
  • You'll be given three consumables by your teammates. These are the only ones you are allowed to use throughout the battle. The use of any other item besides the provided ones will result in a disqualification.
  • The battles will be held in normal mode in order to allow the use of these items. All other standard tournament mode restrictions apply. Be sure not to bring any pokemon above level 50, as they won't get scaled down.
  • Do not AFK Timeout your opponent unless your referee has stated you may.
  • Disconnecting or Battle freeze during a match when result in a DQ.

Alright, here's a TL;DR for those who are intimidated by the wall of text:

  • You make a team of four. Three people will hunt for pokemon, the last one will battle.
  • The fastest team to catch all required pokemon will get an advantage in the battle. Specifically, better items.
  • These items will be allowed to be used in the duel. 4v4 Normal mode.
  • The battle actually determines the winner rather than the race. The race just helps you gain a competitive edge.

Be sure to read the full rules later, though.

  • 3 weeks later...

Just to make sure, but

Round 1's order is: P1, P2, P3, P4, with P4 being the battler. Round 2: P2, P3, P4, P1. Round 3: P3, P4, P1, P2.

This means that "Team LeGaryOak" vs "Team Losing" will have one match against each other where it is player 1 battling. And if we move on to the second round our player 2 will be the one battling.

Or does it mean that "Team LeGaryOak" will play 3 battles after each other against "Team Losing".    ?

The last one on the team is battling each round.

So P4 will battle in round 1.

If you move on, the order rotates, and so P1 will be battling.

If you move on again, then P2 will be battling.

There is only ever one battle against a specific team.

Due to low signups, I'll allow individual signups, and you'll be placed in reserves.

If not enough teams sign up, I'll form new ones off reserves.

You can also fill holes in teams of four with an absent member.

I'll be calling full teams first though, even if they sign up after you.
just pls sign up
