jayfeatskydd
Now what happens when you finish a match and no one uses present? As a result of a sweep or something. OldKeith and cchiovitti527 2 Link to comment
XelaKebert
Just a note: Elekid is banned. Its inclusion on the list of allowed Pokemon was an oversight on my part. Link to comment

Also, what if your only pokemon with present gets OHKOd before it attacks? This tournament sounds fun, but the idea of using present does not seem to work. Link to comment

OldKeith
Magby will be problematic for the tournament. Just look at the total base stats, huge. It is outsped by two pokemon in this 'tier', Starmie and Voltorb, and it can ohko them both after Belly Drum, with Mach Punch. The versatility of being able to run a varied special set (flamethrower and thunderpunch - unresisted) and also a belly drum killer set - return and mach punch can ohko everything - makes it a necessity in every team. Also, what if your only pokemon with present gets OHKOd before it attacks? This tournament sounds fun, but the idea of using present does not seem to work. The best way to avoid these situations is to just use Present on the first turn. The worst that will happen is that it will say for example, "Cleffa used Present. But it failed." In that case, you will have still satisfied the requirement of using Present once in your duel. Link to comment
OldKeith
If that is the case, I think the ruling should be like that - first turn must be the move present. I don't want my opponent to set up while I use present, sweep and then just end it with a present. Link to comment

I don't want my opponent to set up while I use present, sweep and then just end it with a present. I left it open so that players can decide the best timing for using Present. However, should the situation you mentioned occur, it would still count as long as they use Present. However, should the situation occur without the use of Present, the player would have shown deliberate intent to not use the move and will be immediately disqualified. Link to comment

JonazDK
Best strategy = your oppoent has a pokemon which can sweep you and he hasn't used present yet,,, so you encore him and then he is forced to sweep you before he use present... RIP Eggplant 1 Link to comment
OldKeith
The Present part needs rework IMO. Also Magby will destroy anything... Link to comment
XelaKebert
The Present part needs rework IMO. Also Magby will destroy anything... If a player intentionally does not use Present in their match and wins, the decision will be reversed. If either intentionally break the Present rule then both will be disqualified. If one player traps the other player into breaking the Present rule, the result will stand as is. We will be able to know who is intentionally not using Present. The best way to avoid breaking that rule is to use Present on the first turn because as long as it goes off, regardless of what effect rolls, it will count.
