[Forum Suggestion] "Only First Unread Post" Notification

See all those options for getting notified when you follow a topic?

There is one option that isn't there that I'd use a lot.

 

It's basically "notify me instantly", but only for the first post until I go to check the thread.

This way, I can avoid coming back the next day to a whole 179 notifications for three threads.

 

"Daily" doesn't cut it, because I want to know immediately when someone posts if it's an active thread so I can go reply to it and contribute to conversation;.

 

Without this notification option, I have to either:

-Unfollow the popular threads every night

-Not follow them at all and just refresh the threads all the time to see if something's new

-Just go with the 179 notifications and risk missing out on one or two important notifications in the pile like "xxx has quoted a post you made" or "Patrick has posted topic Find Friends 14 that takes place in a few hours".

 

So, basically just a "instantly" but you cut out the duplicate noifications until either the thread has been visited or the notification has been read.
