considering that you'll have a chance to get an egg every 2 minutes if the parents are compatable, there is really not much need for that

Yeah I don't really see a need for this since eggs are produced relatively quickly now. By the time you hatch one egg, another one is ready to be picked up almost always. Even if my breeders "Don't like each other very much" (which happens a LOT) I still get eggs within short and reasonable amounts of time.

This sort of thing would have been much better when we had the ability to have more than one egg at a time and a longer time spent waiting for each. There wouldn't be much of a point to it with the current mechanics.

When your egg hatches, there's another one ready immediately. Pretty much.

There isn't much need for this.
