I agree, but the plot of the book doesn't really lend itself to a cohesive movie

I sorta agree, but it's just the trailer made it look more actiony than it really was. Most of world war z's charm came from the experiences of different people and their approach to the apocalypse.

But I want to reiterate this, the story in HOTD is actually enjoyable if you can ignore the boobies long enough. There's a little too much focus on rape and pedophila,but overall there's a lot of good humanization in it. The first chapter makes you wonder what'd you would do if the fella who stole your girl was turning into a zombie,but asked you to euthanize him. Would you comply and mercy kill him or bash his head in due to jealousy?

If you ignore one of the fundamental aspects of the show you're doing it wrong. One of the most powerful emotions for humans is lust. If an apocalypse were to happen why wouldn't people perform all that sexual stuff if there were no law enforcement. The entire community would descend into anarchy. It seemed like a pretty realistic representation of an apocalyptic era. There was no pedophilia that I can speak of unless you're talking about Kohta and Alice. From what you can see from the show Alice is treated as the mascot of the group and treats both males as her Onii-chans and the relationship is not sexual whatsoever. The boob physics were pretty ridiculous I will have to admit but its all in good fun. Panty shots are part of fanservice and many shows include it to please the fans.

Have you forgotten the episode with the bus? The teacher had those two girls on a string, just barely outside the reach of their vaginas. Yes it's reasonable to say there would be rape in an apocolyptic society,but to focus solely on the sex and not the breakdown itself is another. When I said ther was toomuch rape I mean we didn't get to see enough of anything else. The guy at the gas station was just an excuse to watch someone jiggle rei's breasts. Sure they showed a "Last man on earth" group firing at both alive and dead people with shotguns. Sure they had the bridge scene with the panicking cops,but when you boil down the show's focus, there was too much focus on the fanservice and sex.

 

Btw, you can't tell me the apartment episode was anything more than an excuse to show nipples and bath scenes. I didn't hate it,but also found no point in showing 20 minutes of fanservice when the show only has 13 episodes.

Back when the show was first airing I was turned off by the zombie theme and didn't give it a chance even when a friend of mine highly recommended it. Fast forward two years later I was watching some anime from my backlog and decided to finally give this show a chance. It's not a masterpiece by anime standards but its pretty fucking awesome if you love boobs, breasts and busts. It has the apocalyptic feel to it and some situations that might happen if we were in that situation. The MC is pretty cool and slaps worst girl in the first episode. With guns, zombies and boobs its basically a 'guy' anime but it can be enjoyed by everyone. I never knew what love felt like until I watched the show.

and yeah thats my one complaint with HotD, although I like fanservice as much as anyone else it sometimes distracts from the rest of the story.

backing away from nipples of the dead, I found black ops 1 zombie story amazing. The gameplay was limited,but ombies deserved its own game,but that's a pipe dream sadly :(

I had a pretty solid one worked out for my hometown, although now that I go to college quite far from there I haven't thought about it as much.

 

I do always have a basic idea of what I'd do if zombies came out of nowhere tho :L

 

PS - still looking for movie suggestions, I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed and I need something to do while I'm lying around

Watch Shiki while you're lying around. It's not zombies but it's in the horror genre. It's also my favorite anime, EVER.

First DR was good and a huge step for gaming for it's time DR 2 is a boatload of fun (getting it free on Xbox meant everyone has it) and DR 3 is just great because it lets you play around with the no time limit mode or play for story or play it like the other games.

 

IRL zombie apocalypse, I live in a city of about 300,000 and on an island of 1 million- 1.5 million I have much better chances than someone in the US already :P  :D
