Dannnno
http://spark.rstudio.com/jkatz/DialectQuiz/ - It can be pretty slow getting on the site and getting through it, it gets lots of traffic Fun thing I found while researching some stuff about linguistics for a class. Its actually fairly accurate at placing where you were born/grew up, or at least where your parents grew up. It seems to really like Michigan for me, although the Iowa/Southern Minnesota is still clearly a fairly likely choice. How about the rest of you? Can it match up well? ProfessorElderberry
mfw. This is pretty accurate considering that I have lived primarily on the west coast. Link to comment
MinyBoy5
This is not very accurate since I've been to the west coast and I do not sound quite like them. However, I do live in Minnesota so there must be some truth there. Link to comment
Chuckie
>hey what town are you born and raised in uh, Boston why >hey I bet your dialect is that of a Bostonian whoa Giygas and shadowjrg2 2 Link to comment
Plague
Dialects in Vermont are kind of hit or miss when it comes to different parts of the state even, so lolidunno Link to comment

Croix
My dialect differs, I use multiple words for the same thing and my pronunciation of different words are interchangeable. Like for example, I pronounce aunt in two different ways and this change isn't dependent on how it's used but how I feel. There's no option for that. I've lived in many different places and that's likely the cause. Link to comment

Croix
I took the liberty of getting a map like the rest of you. It's fairly accurate considering the places I've been to. Although it would be better if the northeast was more yellow-orange. Link to comment

Mariah
As a New Yorker, i'm generally disgusted by the locations my dialect is most similar with, and that where i'm actually from is the 3rd most similar. /: Link to comment

controller
after i answered some of them i was kicking myself because i answered incorrectly. like i never order take-out or carry-out, i order pick up so i should've picked other. it was spot on regardless. most similar #1 is my shire, most similar #5 is basically where i live now. i was pretty surprised at what was least similar though. how do people in connecticut talk? Soothe
that's actually a little accurate but it's weird that i don't really share parts of my mom's dialect and that none of my most similar dialects are in the state that i actually live in. Link to comment
