Help with evasion abilities

Can someone explain how to counter pokemon with evasion abilities without changing the weather pls.

How do you guys counter pokes like garchomp esp when they start dodging all your moves.

Sometimes one free move is all those pokes need to throw off the balance of your team and lose you the match

Simple; Change the weather, or count the turns until weather ends. If you can't do this, game over.

Needless to say, it's a joke, or requires a ban on the next tier discussion, or prays the ability doesn't activate.

If devs ban Sand Veil, some mons will be banned because simply he will not have any ability to use. Garchomp is best example. Until he get rough skin, banning sand veil is banning him.
So, the ability will not be banned, however devs can still deactivate their effects on PvP.

It seems someone doesn't remember when sand veil was banned from pvp and chomp was still being used.

Sand Veil never get banned from PvP. Devs only deactivated their effect on PvP, but any mon that have the ability can still be used. Banning the ability is don't allow you to enter in PvP matches with one pokémon with the illegal ability. And probablly they can do it again.

I understand your point because of what happened in previous years with Dugtrio and Wobbuffet, but you are dwelling on such an insignificant detail in my comment that this thread lost its meaning.
