Should pardon banned accounts?

Recommended Posts

There are many people I know who quit the game because their accounts got banned. Although they really want to play this game, they have lost their motivation. I think after a period of account lockout, gm should consider amnesty, so that more people can come back to the game

Hello, accounts banned permanantly were banned temporarily for several offenses, so had several chances already, or were banned for a severe offense that affected other player's well being and the fairness of the game. Even if they recognize their mistake and regret their actions, the rules were still broken and they cannot use that account anymore, but they can create a new account and continue to play if they don't break the rules again.

Bans are already temporary.

...Although it depends what they did, if the infraction is really severe, then it's permanent.

But it's a conscious design choice.

If your friends are permanently banned, odds are they're botting or something, and well..., it's actually better for the game to not have those kinds of people playing, even if it costs them some statistics of how many active players they have.

And if they're not permanently banned for botting, case closed -- just wait for the ban to end.

If you are perma banned, you won't recover it, simple. Take it as a lesson and either start fresh, if they allow you, or just move on.

Perma banned and have appeal rejected, just in case. If players will know that after some time amnesty will be given, the punishment would be almost non-existant.

That's being said, players can appeal their bans using https://support.pokemmo.eu/
