Event Suggestions & Feedback

As you all know, we enjoy running events. We try to come up with as many new and exciting ideas for them as we can, whilst also attempting to cater to our broad player-base.

Have we run a particular event that you'd like to see again? Perhaps one that you didn't like so much?
Do you have an idea for an event that you'd like to see happen? We're interested in your feedback and ideas, so feel free to post them in this thread.


Please keep ideas within the realm of possibility. I realise "if X is implemented, Y could be a great event", but lets try to work with what we have.



Note: This thread is for the discussion of official events (like those posted in PokeMMO Official Events).

With the OU 128-man happening today, I just wanted to thank staff for keeping 128-person tournaments strictly to OU. The byes in UU, NU, and Doubles is just not competitive and we all appreciate it.

Run up to Christmas is insane for a lot of us in staff with work or paper deadlines. Apologies to all for lack of events, but I can promise it will pick up after Christmas. 

 

Also, looks like an action packed weekend for events, so that's hype:

I think it would be cool if the prizes get bigger, and if its like a once or twice time a year thing, because getting 5 people to play + extra to rotate is kinda hard

5 Tier TT would only benefit large teams, of which there are only a handful. 8 Team Bracket would probably fill, 16 Teams would be extremely unlikely.

A mid year /  end of year 'super TT' does sound pretty hype. Maybe even quarterly if that isn't too much work.

 

Honestly if a team isn't able to get 5 people together every 3/6 months to play in the most competitive tournament then they aren't really a competitive team in the first place.

As Tyrone noted, a 5-person TT does benefit larger teams considering the variability in tiers and having quality players compete in each. I though believe it would be an amazing opportunity to have at least twice a year with a large prize awarded to the winning team (money of course). There could be a points system in the regular TT's that would allow for the best of the best to qualify. For instance, 1st and 2nd place finishes could award you points towards this scoring system and then the top 8 teams get in should they choose to accept.

agreed with 2xou no LC until it gets a large enough player base, and maybe 4 times a year to go with the 4 seasons/seasonals?
