Is it possible to run a competitive team that has four 31 IVs or do I need five?

I'm new to competitive battling in pokemmo and was wondering if I need four or five 31 IVs on my mons

you need what your pokemon needs bassicly, i have a umbreon that is 3x31 , hp,def,spdef. you do not always need the max, just the essentials ;) (that said my umbreon has "wish , protect , toxic, heal bell" and didnt need attack for it ^.^

(Obviously the more 31's the better in any case for flexibility, but as long as you got the essentials you should be okay)
