A question about the escape shiny reminder mechanism

Changes

• Players who are attempting to run from or target a wild shiny will now be met with a prompt making sure they really want to do that

I read a lot of posts but couldn't find the answer, so i want to ask whether it is effective for fishing.

This does apply for fishing as well. There's also a prompt if you're about to attack a shiny.

Prompt should only work for AOE moves in hordes because you can still hit shinies with normal moves.

Not if it would kill them, I've seen people get the popup for using moves that would KO single encounter shinies or even non-AOE moves targeted at the shiny that would otherwise KO

Oddly enough, I've seen the opposite; single target moves not get the popup.
