bypass 'os not supported'

sunfish117

Question

I understand I won't get support.

But let us bypass the 'os not supported' error, the game is in java right? it should run fine on bsd, maybe with issues, but it'll run. I play tons of java games on openbsd

this arbitary OS check that just decides i cant continue is pretty pointless, can't we have a startup parameter to disable it or something? of course, those of us who do this would be aware we won't get support.

maybe sound won't work, maybe hardware accel wont work

but it'll run

I have ran things like runescape, even modern, maintained private server runescape clients on things like solaris, bsd, kfreebsd

of course peformance sucked, it had issues but it worked

please just give us the choice, its okay if we're stuck with software rendering only or whatever
