ohSwervo
Why do people call the currency PokeYen instead of just dollars or PokeDollars? Am I missing anything? Link to comment
Quakkz
IIRC the currency was Yen when money was first introduced in this game and changed later, not 100% sure tho anymore, has been a while ohSwervo and HermitG 2 Link to comment

druido890
It is interesting to note that only in the western versions, the coin of the pokemon world is called "PokèDollar" with icon ₽. While in the Japanese versions, the icon used is that of the Yen, the kanji 円. This means that only the western versions have a personalization of the money in game, while in the Japanese versions the in-game money remains the same as in reality (the Yen). I remember reading that in the Spanish versions, the coin is called "Pokècuarto". Personally I like the idea of calling the coin "PokèYen", it seems like a right choice between the Western version and the Japanese version. Link to comment
