Playing the Different Regions

Hi guys,

 

I'm new to the game. I started in Kanto. Is this world set up so that you can move between the regions, or do you have to start a new character to play each of the different regions? Thanks.

Hi there;

 

You're able to play through all the regions with a single character! Once you earn 4 badges in your first region you'll be free to travel to a new one via the port city of each region, those would be Pastoria city for Sinnoh, Vermilion city for Kanto, Slateport city for Hoenn and Castelia city in Unova.

Only Johto is not available, but I don't mind that. Johto is probably my least favourite Region for few reasons
