RealMak
Starter Pokemon are the first pokemon that you obtain in every pokemon game. In PokeMMO the starters are both Gift, untradeable 5x15 species and rare encounters in some areas. Shall we see what we have? Specifically, in Kanto region, you can choose between: Spoiler Venusaur (Bulbasaur's final evolution) Grass/Poison super effective against: Water, Rock, Ground, Grass, Weak against: Fire, Flying, Psychic, Ice Deals with: Brock, Misty, Giovanni, Lorelei's Water types, Don't use against: Sabrina and Blaine Note: Venusaur has an immunity against Grass type Status moves like Sleep Powder or Spore and its immune to Toxic, thanks to its Poison typing Spoiler Charizard (Charmander's final evolution) Fire/Flying Super Effective against: Grass, Bug, Ice, Steel, Immunity against: Ground Weak against: Rock, Water, Electric Deals with: Erika, Lorelei, Bruno's fighting types Don't use against: Brock and Misty Note: Because of the Stealth Rocks, Charizard loses 50% of its health upon entering the field Edited January 21, 2021 by RealMak Link to comment

Polaraves
Spoiler Blastoise (Squirtle's final evolution) Water Super Effective against: Fire, Ground, Rock Weak against: Electric, grass Deals with: Pewter City Gym, Viridian City Gym, Cinnabar Island Gym. Don't use against: Celadon City Gym, Vermilion City Gym Note: Lacks of recovery method, so beware of its longevity. Also it doesn't have another useful secondary type, so this might be a disadvantage when it comes to having some better move-pool or resistances. RealMak
Overall, the Kanto Starters have few Pros and Cons •Venusaur Pros: •Grass/Poison type that doesn't require a Leaf/Shiny Stone for evolution (Examples are Vitreebell, Vileplume and Roserade) •Because of its typing, its immune to powder moves, toxic and can absorb Toxic Spikes •Venusaur is quite good in competitive, as it can serve as a Bulky defencive sweeper or a Leech Seed Staller • It has access to Ground type coverage moves such as Earthquake and Earth Power. Cons: •Unfortunately, our good buddy Venusaur is overshadowed by the other Kanto starters because of popularity •Fast Pokemon like Starmie, Staraptor or Alakazam can destroy venusaur using super effective moves • Charizard Pros: •Thanks to its flying typing, Charizard cannot be damaged by Ground type attacks •Can learn HM2 (Fly), making it useful for travelling •Charizard can be both Physical and Special attacker Cons: • Charizard is the most overated starter • Because of its typing, Its 4x weak to Rock ( thus, it loses 50% of its health on Stealth rocks) • Blastoise Pros: •It has access to Shell Smash, one of the most dangerous Boost Setup moves •It has access to Hm Surf, Waterfall and Dive, making it a quite good HM slave •Has access to Rapid Spin Cons: •Lacks recovery moves and a 2ndary typing, making it vulnerable against Electric types •Lacks Special Coverage (besides Ice,Fighting,Dark and Dragon) if we don't use Hidden Power Edited April 8, 2021 by RealMak CrzPapel 1 Link to comment

However, I forgot to mention that it can learn Hidden Power, which provides it coverage against Electric types (with Hidden Power Ground) Edited April 8, 2021 by RealMak Link to comment
