Birthday Tour [VGC Edition #1]

Well, since is my birthday and Covid has denied me a chance to get drunk with friends, I'll do something entertaining here. VGC is still not an official format in PokeMMO, but hopefully incorporating a monthly (or every 2-3 weeks) VGC tour will give it a higher relevance.

 

As an idea to create a VGC & Doubles community, I'll make a ranking using the results of all the future VGC events, with this being the first one. I'll follow the point system used in last year's "Player of the Month/Year" tournaments. Will probably do the same with Double Format tournaments (Discord still in progress)

 

It is important to highlight that VGC is played in a Swiss format, meaning that if you lose in round 1, you are NOT eliminated from the event. If we reach enough players, after the swiss rounds the top players will play a Single Elimination Top Cut to decide a winner.

There is no entry fee.

You can already register. The limit will be up

 to 5 minutes prior to the event. To register, comment in this post or send me an Ingame mail (or whisper me if I'm online). I'll try to limit it to 64 players; I don't think we will reach that number, but it would be awesome. The more people, the more likely prizes will go up.

 

 

VGC RULES [IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ]

• It must be played in Tournament Mode.
• Each round is played as BO3 (Best of 3) meaning that you must win 2 battles to continue to the next round.
• All battles are Double Battles, at Level 50.
• Duplicate Pokémon are not allowed.
• Duplicate held items are not allowed.
• Please, UNCHECK the rest of clauses, since evasion, 0HKO, etc are allowed at VGC. Only leave checked the 2 mentioned above.
• Your team consists on 6 Pokemon, but in each battle you can only use 4 of those 6. That combination can be the same in every battle, you are NOT forced to switch the 4 pokemon selected.
• Your 6 Pokemon cannot change between matches in the same round (only the 4 you will use to battle); however your 6 pokemon can change between rounds (As a host I cant check one by one if you switched anything in your team, so please, be nice and dont dissapoint me). Normally you wouldnt be able to change any mon for the entire tournament, but again, VGC format is still not implemented.
• Before any match begins, you MUST whisper your opponent and tell him/her your 6 pokemon (do not tell your opponent the 4 pokemon selected to battle). This rule will work this way because the vgc format is not implemented ingame.

 

For clarification, to play with 4 Pokemon you must tell your opponent your 6 Pokemon Team. After both players know each other's teams, you will have to leave 2 Pokemon in the PC and play with the 4 Pokemon selected for that battle.

 

If you suspect your opponent has changed any Pokemon/Item in an illegal way, please whisper me ingame and try to send me any proof; I'll manually check it.

Como idea para fomentar la creación de una comunidad de VGC y Dobles, utilizaré un ranking usando los resultados de todos los futuros torneos de VGC, empezando por este. Seguire el sistema de puntuación utilizado en los torneos oficiales "Jugador del Mes/Año" organizados en 2019. Seguramente haga lo mismo con Dobles (Discord aún en proceso de creación).

 

Es importante remarcar que VGC se juega en formato Suizo, lo que significa que si pierdes en ronda 1 no quedas eliminado del torneo. Si se llegan a suficientes jugadores, después del suizo los jugadores mejor clasificados jugarán un Top Cut de eliminación directa, para decidir un ganador.

REGLAS DE VGC [IMPORTANTE, LEERLO POR FAVOR]

• Debe ser jugado en Modo Torneo.
• Cada ronda se juega a BO3 (Al mejor de 3), lo que significa que debes ganar 2 combates para pasar a la siguiente ronda.
• Todos los combates son Combates Dobles, al nivel 50.
• No se permite repetir pokemon en un mismo equipo. (Cláusula de Especie Única)
• No se permite repetir objeto en un mismo equipo. (Cláusula de Objeto Único)
• Por favor, quita la marca en el resto de cláusulas, ya que la Evasión, 0HKO, etc son permitidos en VGC. Solo deja marcadas las 2 cláusulas mencionadas anteriormente.
• Tu equipo consiste en 6 Pokemon, pero en cada combate solo puedes usar 4 de esos 6. Esa combinación puede ser la misma en cada combate, no es obligatorio cambiar los 4 seleccionados.
• Los 6 Pokemon que componen un equipo no pueden cambiar durante partidas en la misma ronda (solo los 4 que seleccionas para cada partida). Sin embargo, los 6 Pokemon pueden cambiar entre rondas. Para aclarar una duda importante, para jugar con 4 Pokemon debes decirle al rival tu equipo de 6 Pokemon. Una vez que ambos jugadores conocen el equipo del rival, deben dejar 2 Pokemon en la caja del Centro Pokemon, y proceder a jugar con los 4 Pokemon seleccionados para ese combate.

 

Si sospechas que tu oponente ha cambiado algún Pokemon/Objeto de manera ilegal, por favor susurrame en el juego e intenta mandar alguna prueba; Lo comprobaré manualmente.
